If this is a highly valued tech stock then I can understand the fall-it moves with the NASDAQ.

It will not to that. The two founders are 80 and they deserve to retire!

Maybe no official news of interested parties causing the fall. The other route is going private and that will not be the best option for us.

not sure about that - non execs are there usually to pick up a nice fee for attending two board meetings a year. The parties who agreed to the sale process have a majority stake so they will be the key factor for sure. The hope here is a plethora of parties are interested. this is a trophy asset so i would see this as likely that will be the case. Both the old boys will have legacy issues in mind for sure as this is literally their lives work but will no doubt also be swayed by the price. Not sure why the price is back to almost preannouncement but hey ho sit tight and raid the piggy bank if the price action continues downward would be my view.

McMurtry and Deer are interested parties and directors. They cannot make the decision. It has to de the non-execs who make the decision, in this case. They have a duty to act on behalf of all shareholders.

The directors will go for the best deal available for shareholders as it is a PLC and also to maximise their own wealth.Just because they are very wealthy does not mean they will sell it for less. The wealthier they are the more they want to make!

does this enter the fste 100 as market cap higher or because in a takeover situation it does not?

could get interesting - power struggle between fanuc /hexagon or indeed some chinese firm that none of us have heard of. this is a rare UK strategic asset akin to ARM holdings so this will get alot of attention.

But at what price??????????????????
Might get an indication at opening
Very likely to be sbject to strategic review as one of the few British world leading companies

If Chinese bid very likely (imo) to be blocked for policy reasons

American bid - Probabaly likely to have a significant number of enforceable conditions

As Sir David McMurtry and John Deer are very wealthy they might well not accept the higest bid but go for a lower offer that preserves the nature of the compamy and those who work for it -

Could well see a significant drop this morning - BWTFDIK

Just profit-taking. Look at the chart, it's a regular occurrence. Mind you I think that the p/e is ahead of events.

slightly below consensus expectations on forward guidance. i see that as ok - under promise and over deliver. one to own for decades so i shouldn't really care about market perception.
