Not specific to RSW but institutions and investors are getting out of the markets as there is evidence of recession with inflation persisting and rising to possibly 18% next year. In addition, the Russia/Ukraine conflict does not seem to have an end on sight. The China/Taiwan possible disruption of semi-conductors as Taiwan holds 61% of the world production. All these events are making it very difficult to invest for the short or the long term in these markets as nobody can quantify the extent of future effects. This is my own opinion only.

Is additive manufacturing finally coming good? It strikes me it is starting to become more embedded for good economic reasons

And I suspect that the majority owners simply wanted too much added to the lack of depth of quality in themanagement team below them.

McMurtry and Deer view this company as theirs, regardless of the ownership existence.of other shareholders. Hence the appointment of a management team of yes men with insufficient gravitas and experience below them who will do as they are told.

Until McMurtry and Deer depart, the company will continue to underperform.

Does anyone know why there were no buyers for the firm when it was up for sale? I suspect the directors placed onerous conditions such as buyers not being permitted to sack any employees, but not sure if that's correct.

SI

You are far more optimistic about the company today.
On 31 March you were looking to buy when the share price reaches 500p and now it's target is 2200p

Hey ho....

Drip, drip, drip. Excellent short target this. Next target is c. 2200p. Totally overvalued with inept mngt.

So 3750 got realised today, and although Nocton feels hard done by (see above) , and wishes to blame the Ukraine conflagration, the reality is that not all stocks have performed as poorly as Renishaw. 3750 looked a long way away when we first predicted it, in front of a lot of well dressed news. But here we are. What now? You know our views, but we will cover our position, move to the sidelines now for a breather and reassessment, probably to go short again absent what we need to see happen internally.

Well done Shallow Pockets for predicting the war on Ukraine!?? I must have missed all the "positive announcements" for stock markets recently. Or is you that doesn't seem to have noticed what is happening in the world.

So here we are, about to breakdown through 4000, en route to 3750 with some 40% of value destruction now behind us, despite a number of positive announcements driven by global industry beta, after the two founders' revealed that they would like to sell down their holdings if they could extract an excessive price which predictably failed. Since when both McMurtry and an ailing Deer have stubbornly held onto control because they view it as "their company". They haven't reinvigorated executive management with new and top class recruitment. They haven't allowed any disposal of non core subsidiaries to focus better on their core units. In fact, nothing has changed nor looks like changing The company is coming under increasing global competition, and is beginning to resemble its founders....as behind the times.

Excellent recovery from what had been a poor trading period.
The company has recovered it's mojo.
The time when the business was on the market has been and gone and they can continue to do what they do best without interruption.
