08/10/2017 10:19 | Re: Voltstorage etc - Yes,people are lazy but the market for vrb domestic storage if the idea proves to be economic, is more likely to be biassed towards new build as in the early days of central heating with retrofit catching up later. Smaller and bigger versions are not what RedT need to be pushing atm but they will inevitably follow and if redT have a key patent which makes all versions more efficient they can licence a diversity of options and collect the cash. | boadicea

08/10/2017 04:07 | Cracks already appearing in the Tesla model.....that is why they have had to turn to Samsung for the battery,s for the Australian 112MW battery storage. Out in the desert in Reno, Nev., Elon Musk and his team began production at Tesla Gigafactory 1, a massive complex built to lithium-ion batteries. Tesla and Panasonic are partnering on the effort, and Tesla considers it crucial for its own survival. There simply aren’t enough lithium-ion batteries available for Tesla to meet its goal of selling 500,000 Model 3 vehicles by 2018 — and current market prices are too high for the $35,000 car to be profitable. | dlg3

08/10/2017 03:41 | Whereas lithium is the lightest known mineral, ideal for portable objects like cars, laptops, watches and phones, it is a rare earth mineral which is in finite supply. If it is wasted on stationary objects like large MW storage infrastructure, on current projections it will run out in 17 years. | dlg3
