Coupling storage and renewables is financially beneficial, if it makes money it will be installed.

Hip hip hurrah!!!

Doesn’t need subsidies and vanadium prices not important as they can rent electrolyte.

This might be helpful to explain Contracts for Difference

Good bedtime reading!

The way I see it is any large renewable energy projects providers are likely to directly benefit if successful in the 'Auctions' and then RedT benefit indirectly because the more renewable energy installations/projects that are up and running give the potential for RedT excess energy storage systems (flow machines)to be chosen and revenue/profits realised by RedT.

Anyone agree?

The biggest economic scandal of the government is not Brexit, its signing off Hinkley Point. That is absurd (ZILLIONS and for what......)...

I like this post on the LSE board:

AIMforprofit, Sorry for the late reply just got back from the gym.

I have absolutely no factual evidence to back up my forecast but I have been in sales all my life and I get a real positive feeling when I see things getting momentum & while this company has taken ages to get to where we are now I can almost smell the deals in the pipeline coming through. Timing is also a key and critical factor and we are in the right place at the right time and with undoubtedly the best product on the market and at the best price, while I mention 50p as a target price by Christmas I in no way see this as it£s final price as in time I believe this share will be worth many many multiples of that figure but in the short term I believe it to be a fair expectation.

Good luck all and once again Ridiculously Strong Strong BUY and roll on Christmas

crystball: I'm no expect but surely energy storage is a key part of not wasting energy and thus "drive down costs"?

So one would think as part of the auction process there will be some junior members
at the auction who are involved in storage (not the generation). Thus any money being thrown around by the government one would think REDT would potentially be able to get a slice of the action.

Especially since its a new player...

2019 is not that long away - in 2.5 months it will be 2018. Time Waits for No Man..

I think you cannot see the wood for the trees...

Think IN THE SCHEME OF THINGS.... £500 MILLION thrown around to small energy companies is going to help REDt...

It is this bit I don't understand....

'As part of the strategy, developers will compete for up to £557 million of funding in Contracts for Difference auctions which drive down energy costs for consumers and increase business confidence. The latest auction saw the cost of new offshore wind fall by 50% compared to the first auction held in 2015 and resulted in over 3GW of new generation which could power 3.6 million homes.'

Admitedly the words Contracts for Difference leaves me in a cold sweat and my eyes roll to the back of my head :-) but could someone explain how this is an auction?

At an auction, people bid and pay for something, so how is this 'auction' a free hand out to RedT? Also the 'Auction' is not due until the Spring of 2019?

crtstball: This is the summary:
Energy Minister Richard Harrington confirmed today (11 October 2017) that up to £557 million will be made available for less established renewable electricity projects as part of the government’s Clean Growth Strategy, to drive economic growth and clean up the energy system

Could you explain what you do not understand???

Would you not say that REDt's projects are "less established" then say wind farms?

I fail to see what you cant see

Hence my post:

£557 million that is huge to a small firm like REDt.....
And we stand a chance of getting a real slab of that money (eg high profile centrica project and Life Boats - always goes down well with electorate)

Can someone explain in simple terms why the BEIS announcement is beneficial to RedT directly?

The vanadium miners are hoping for vanadium price rises!!
Not exactly what RedT wants!!
Anyone know approximate vanadium % cost in the machine ?

Taken from BmN board, wonder what he’s up to, revolution in VRB...

Whilst there will of course be a detailed Vanitec report coming from me in the next couple of weeks one of the most interesting things that came up was the very clear suggestion by the two most important players in the Vanadium production space that Robert Friedland would be doing something very very interesting before the year is out.

For those that have not come across him before - Robert Friedland is to mining what Elon Musk is to electric vehicles -
