06/10/2017 11:44 | Think redT have done their bit in recent past with some big hitters and policy makers across the globe. I’d rather they concentrate on what they are doing, getting name awareness out on BBC programme and some good publicity in countries we have just launched into. We should be in for a really good run on press and our countryfile showing, getting name right out there to those farmers :-) | dogrunner11
06/10/2017 11:33 | There is a conference on the subject of The Future of Energy Storage on Nov 15 at the Radison Blu Portman hotel in London, attended by dozens of major energy producers. Speakers from gov and trade orgs like Ofgem and the Big Beasts of the energy industry ie Heads of National Grid, share price Energy networks, Statoil, Centrica etc are joined by a Professor from IC, Heads of Energy at Sumitomo, investment directors, MDs etc from Powervault, VCharge etc.... But no sign of REDT. I have asked them today Why not? Perhaps REDT have already brain washed all their potential UK clients,(unlikely) but it can never be too much. | scrutable
06/10/2017 11:04 | Monty . Pebbles are for throwing into pools. But: -The tone a bit belligerent? 10:1 eh?No VW Passats because there are BMWs?Industries all built on one firm....Still thanks for making us think, stirring the neurones and all. | alchemy
06/10/2017 10:31 | Monty Competition galore but I don't believe that anyone is doing anything in the world new and better for energy storage than Redox Vanadium, and the tiny peer group into vanadium are all producing less efficient and/or more expensive machines. Lithium-ion is well compromised in advance of flooding the market: short life, and therefore high amortisation, sometimes dangerous, and soon in too tight a supply situation to satisfy all markets. Hydrolysis of Hydrogen ,in a parallel market offers a plausible alternative and has advantages in some respects. It will take time to get at the cost comparisons, but a lot of energy is lost in converting energy to hydrogen, and the costs of hydrogen-producing infrastructure are high. Obviously I am long, and starry eyed about this company, but am prepared to argue the case at any time, especially since speaking to the company yesterday and posting my findings..... Again, obviously: REDT is suddenly attracting a far larger market share than other vanadium flow producers,( other than the heavy government supported Sumitomo - in a different sector - at the big end of the market though the reasons for this have not been properly articulated by the company, nor by the buyers. I have tried to stimulate debate on the subject. | scrutable
06/10/2017 10:13 | Monty, no way that a disruptive technology like this was going to be left to a couple of small specialist firms. The potential size of the market will create the demand that can only be filled by many large producers. The good news is that RedT are well ahead of the game having many years of R&D and patents in the bag. Plenty of room for many companies to thrive in a market this big. We shouldn't be afraid of a bit of competition. | littlepop
06/10/2017 10:00 | It's competition galore in the battery space right now. Who will come out on top? I don't know but this remains a 10-1 punt. In many ways a shame all the big cos like JMAT are suddenly moving into this space. Fingers crossed. | monty panesar
06/10/2017 09:59 | good to have a pull back, clears out the weak holders before next news.....those buying them now will hold... | dlg3
06/10/2017 09:46 | Just short-termers profit taking. Inevitable when a share rises like this. Plenty of buys going in now. All good. | littlepop
06/10/2017 09:30 | Nice one tonsil. I'm also looking for more. | iglenn
06/10/2017 09:28 | Good chance to top up. I picked up up another 17k shares at 11.14 | tonsil

06/10/2017 00:24 | Mr. Robert Friedland is the recipient of the 2017 Northern Miner's Lifetime Achievement Award, and when the legendary mining billionaire offered his rare insights on vanadium in a recent interview with The Northern Miner, I paid my full attention. Mr. Friedland stated: "We think there's a revolution coming in vanadium redox flow batteries," he says. "You'll have to get into the mining business and produce ultra-pure vanadium electrolyte for those batteries on a massive scale. We're very deeply interested in how you store electrical energy in the grid. The beauty of the vanadium redox battery is that you can charge and discharge it at the same time, something that can't be done with a lithium battery. With a vanadium redox flow battery, you can put solar power and wind power into the battery, and you can put excess grid power into the battery at night, and at the same time you can have a stable output into the grid." | dlg3
06/10/2017 00:20 | The project team also is evaluating the installation of up to 100 megawatts of solar power and large-scale vanadium redox batteries for high-capacity storage of both solar and hydro-electric power. “It is our intention to implement new technologies in efficient, eco-friendly power generation and power storage and establish the Kamoa-Kakula Project as one of the ‘greenest̵ | dlg3
05/10/2017 23:53 | THE BENEFITS OF VRFBS This unique setup gives VRFBs a few interesting advantages for something like grid-scale energy storage: Extremely scalable Can rapidly release large amounts of energy Vanadium electrolyte is reusable, recyclable, and has a battery lifespan of 25+ years No cross-contamination of metals, since only one metal (vanadium) is used Cycle life is theoretically unlimited Can maintain ready state for long periods of time Can be charged and discharged at same time Non-flammable As a result, VRFBs can be used in a variety of energy storage applications such as peak-shaving, load leveling, microgrids, wind and solar, off-grid power supplies, and uninterruptible power supplies. | dlg3

05/10/2017 22:52 | Good find edale.... we have the boost we needed Add in a few more sales, even a US link we will be away.... DLG - why no mention of India if we know they are looking closely at our e.on project? He’s produced on what he’s promised, above that we have boom... | dogrunner11
05/10/2017 22:37 | This is included in the preview for Sunday's Countryfile :- 'Charlotte Smith's looking at where all the extra electricity will come from to power the millions of electric cars that could take to our roads over the next 20 years and finding out the impact it could have on our countryside' I wonder if this will include the item filmed at the Olde House Redt installation. | edale
05/10/2017 22:16 | A little strange that Vionx now pop their head up......what has been holding them back??? Surely a US company that raised £53 million just over a year ago would be miles ahead of REDT !!!! or were they waiting for REDT??? | dlg3
05/10/2017 22:12 | We have never had a mention on the US market, but we have markets at the other side of the world, Aus, New Zealand.... | dlg3
05/10/2017 22:10 | you notice the map above in the header with our active areas, why not show a world map or is the US off limits due to licence... | dlg3
05/10/2017 22:08 | I was wondering if they may be producing under licence in the US... | dlg3
05/10/2017 22:07 | vionx energy have a twitter account, they have 2 tweets in 2 years......strange for a company developing flow battery,s or are they using clients of Jabil Circuit to supply them with units??? | dlg3
05/10/2017 22:02 | Another partner with a few unit sales? | dogrunner11 |
