08/4/2018 21:54 | ..........er, sorry Philanderer. Powell is WRONG and YOU are WRONG. You see, the world is headed for a mini-disaster (witness the US jobs figures on Friday). Also, the Syria situation is slowly grinding to a head. Trump has threatened and will probably use some sort of military strike now. Wages aren't rising as fast as feared, but Powell would like to show his testicles to the world and will probably be frightened into a short-term interest rate rise. That, however, will be rapidly reversed by July. In a nutshell, gold has now embarked on it's next bull run. Only ONE more rise in the Fed rate this year, then a reversal, more QE, more panic, war in the middle east, and gold around $1600 by year end. Oh, and RRS about £100 per share I would say. | ![]() professor pettigrew
07/4/2018 09:30 | If there is trade war , how anyone can raise int rate even three times this year as the world economy may go in recession . | ![]() action
06/4/2018 20:02 | Wall Street shares are still falling, thanks to remarks made by Fed Chairman Jerome Powell, who thinks the Fed will need to continue raising interest rates. DJ close : -573pts The Federal Reserve will very likely need to keep raising interest rates in order to keep inflation under control, Fed Chairman Jerome Powell has told an audience at a conference in Chicago. "As long as the economy continues broadly on its current path, further gradual increases in the federal funds rate will best promote these goals," he said. Mr Powell did not mention the trade tariffs row between the US and China in his speech, however he did say that potential risks to the US economic outlook appeared to be "roughly balanced". | ![]() philanderer
06/4/2018 13:46 | With gold holding steady over $1300 for some considerable time, RRS have a large gearing effect to the upside and are coining it in. Very cheap now. | ![]() professor pettigrew
