Yep - I like Trump

But he is no fiscal hawk.

Add in the $1.5trn for infrastructure and the FED releasing $10bn (rising to $30bn) per month in bonds back into the market and they are going to need a hell of a lot of buyers.

That will be tough when a small move in bond rates will destroy a lot of capital. As it is, the recent rate rises will have lost a lot of people a lot of money.

Oh - and multiply that by the ECB, the BOE etc.

It's all rosey.

There is a horizon for sure.

We saw it in Europe, Argentina etc.

The US is already up to 100% debt to GDP and increasing by $1trn p.a.

Who is going to keep buying US 30 year treasuries for 3% p.a. with the inherent risk of exchange rate losses?

At some point rates on that will rise, the FED will end its rate rises and monetary tightening and gold is to the moon whilst the USD devalues.

US Debt problem were high lighted in 1992 if I can remember correctly. Now no one talks about it. Hence more chance for it to happen. also Gold normal cost to dig out is appx 1100 to 1200 USD

The very act of the FED hiking rates will create the run on the dollar (the interest on the debt will explode) and the recession than will necessitate a drop in rates, a suspension of the planned quantitative tightening and probably QE 4.

They are going to need to sell massive amounts of debt plus all the debt on the FED balance sheet that they want to release back into the market.

Rates will rocket to accommodate this and screw the US economy and the USD.

Mind you - I hold gold stocks and not just RRS. So it is irrelevant to my long term view what Congo does or the price does here or there.

Once the USD index hits 70, Gold will be about $2000.

I wouldn't worry - the US deficits are getting to the point where gold rises will more than compensate for any additional payments.

And I say that as a holder of over 3,000.

Yes should give investors some guidance as to the state of play with regards DRC it should have been settled one way or the other, looked on glencore web site nothing, markets are expecting miracles, 25% seems to be nothing for a rise in profits.
