We are currently seeing extraordinary results from our AI Team, which means if we can incorporate those results into our chip, our chip could be 100x, 1000x faster. I’m not saying we will be able to achieve this result, but our early indications are, our AI techniques will make the computational bitcoin mining algorithm even faster. By 3 orders of magnitude.

“By 3 orders of magnitude” =1000x

To summarise CEO has used different connotations to describe magnitude from “several orders of magnitude, to multiply by several factors the speed, to 2-3 orders of magnitude i.e. 100x - 1000x”.

Presumably they are now testing the AI enhancements on a CPU, GPU and FPGA. The significance is that such hardware is commercially available, widespread and relatively inexpensive, so success could mean immediate commercialisation.


QBT, 11/3/2022:

The Company's IT infrastructure is now fully operational. Solo mining activities, created to test AI accelerated miners, running on CPU, GPU and FPGA are currently being finalised. The Company will provide the results of these tests once testing has been completed.

Francesco Gardin, CEO and Executive Chairman of QBT, commented: "We have made impressive progress on all our core R&D areas, and we will now start field testing our optimisations of BTC mining in the next few weeks."
