He is probably trying to adapt a self winder to work with battery clocks after seeing the market opportunity when his battery watch stopped.
He will have run into difficulty and delays because
(a) the battery makers won't reveal their battery tech
(b) the batteries in use currently are not properly designed for self winding, so he will have to design and manufacture appropriate batteries to work with his self winder, and of course
(c) he needs to make numerous patent applications. |
Hmmm. After Miami last year FG had a burble about the appointment of Vlad and suggested the "sell cycle" would be a few months.

I am not so sure about 'profitable', Ellipses. QBT doesn't do profits. It doesn't even do revenue.
But it does have a proven business model: continuous cash burn financed by regular cash raises and shareholder dilution. It works. QBT is still with us after an unbroken quarter century of annual losses, while many revenue, and even profit, generative companies have gone to the wall during those years. And FG continues to trouser £0.3m a year, plus expenses, and regular all expenses paid holiday trips with his mates.
If only I had the good fortune to have been given the heave ho by Intel. I would be in for a QBT consultancy as fast as a rat up a drainpipe. Alas, I do not have that necessary qualification. |

QBT LTHs hardly need reminding of that, of course. During the quarter century they have been waiting they have seen the dot com bubble burst, the 2008 financial crisis and market drop, the Covid upheaval and market drop, and many lesser road bumps. But QBT still marches on. Can anyone dispute that the chances of it making you a billionaire have remained unchanged throughout that quarter of a century, unaltered by the rises and falls in the rest of the market over that period ?

It is now clear that the farsighted FG long ago saw tariffs coming, and wisely ensured that QBT would be unscathed. Without a product to sell, or any prospect of one, QBT can laugh in the face of Trump and his tariffs. Folks laughed at QBT when the long awaited sales failed to materialise last year. But it is the QBT shareholders who are laughing now. There are no tariffs on patents and NDAs ! |
It is reassuring to see that some things remain unchanged, even in these turbulent times:
