21/12/2015 15:18 | Maybe our new friends in the UK Science fraternity newly on the Payroll have an idea or a solution to incorporating chemical scrubbing in the MSAR mix? Now that would be interesting!! - It would make Carnival's decision on LNG look premature and sick!! - Watch with interest. | deutsch3
21/12/2015 13:08 | System is on the back burner AE - as we both know - however IR are keeping an eye on it - Not a planet saver yet methinks - But your right re scrubbers early days & lots of development going on - i think the latest Lloyds projections have HFO & scrubbers with at least a 20% market share of total marine market by 2030 (?) - That could be increased & all go to QFI because of added MSAR benefits - Lots to look forward to I still think that refiners will be doing residue desulphurisation cost checks - surely it must be worthwhile when set against low sulphur MgO costs etc? - & that redundant hfo380 residue has to go somewhere Low Sulphur residue & Emulsification of same has to be in there as a potential winner to the problem Maersk hanging back from scrubber commitment as long as possible to assess all new options arising - No one know how this is going to pan out but MSAR likely well in the mix for big chunk of prize | pcjoe
21/12/2015 12:37 | PC Read PHs post on LSE re patents. The system is brilliant, just early days for scrubbers. QFI are familiar with system. | argyll eagle
21/12/2015 11:10 | ^ not sure it's 'complete' though? May I extend your Christmas cheer to all genuine short term traders.... June 2014 RNS '...to support the LONO certifications and ensuing commercial roll-out through 2015.' '...and complete a trial firing at a nearby thermal power station by end 1H 2015.' 'Ecopetrol...A clear direction on project selection and form of association should emerge during Q1 2015. ' '......sustainable revenues, now expected in 2015.' '...preparing the way also for the intended MAN LONO trials in 1H 2015.' '.......objective of first 'commercial' production in Q1 2015, rolling-out to progressive selective fleet fuel conversion in Q4 2015, should be feasible.' 'while launching Quadrise Marine MSAR® fuel in the international bunker market in 2015' | kreature
21/12/2015 10:15 | That's 2015 complete for QFI. Have a good festive period long term holders. Let's hope we go commercial in 2016...I did say the same thing in 2013 and 2014. | hotfinance14
20/12/2015 16:50 | AE published this link Unfortunately the article was dated 1st Sep 2009 - the CO2 tech doesnt appear to have stood up to the test of time at all - wartsill were involved with them for a short time in 2010/2011 it seems - Pity There is the odd ship that has or is being fitted with Ecospec scrubbers - I wonder if the CO2 removal function has or will be fitted? Sceptics have it at the mo.. EDIT Re wartsilla involvement - This from Feb 2015 - Nothing about CO2 reductions hTTtp://www.wartsila | pcjoe
20/12/2015 09:16 | the word 'potentially' should do the trick | kreature
20/12/2015 08:27 | judge judy: " if something doesn't make sense, it's probably not true" | kreature
20/12/2015 01:06 | Been looking further into this ecospec co2 capture stuff - kreature beginning to think your right on this one - they've been on the go for a while - 6 years ago they were in a joint venture with wartsilla that died a death far too quick - this kind of carbon capture tech could save the planets climate at a stroke - but invented by a wee singapore company that have sat on it for 6 years? - too hood to be true? - hope I'm wrong but this sounds well iffy now - proof required | pcjoe
19/12/2015 21:39 | And you spaz66 fall into both categories. | tigerbright
19/12/2015 17:25 | They dont bother me AE - Used to - But not now - Got more important things to bother about - Take a chill pill - Your a bit uptight - you must be an RFC or Rugby union Fan ( or both) - Good guess? LOL | pcjoe
19/12/2015 17:13 | Ecospec Closed loop scrubber fitted to shipping & testing in Northern European waters - First Pilot test completed Dec 2015 & looks like second pilot scrubber fitted & tested Decemer 2015 - looking good all a bit confusing but seems very positive - "More scrubber orders in the pipeline" - first mention of Ecospec Page 18 - No mention of CO2 benefits for some reason | pcjoe
19/12/2015 15:30 | Almost magic - If it can be done - Apparently it can........ | pcjoe
19/12/2015 14:43 | PC I would advise you to filter Kreature, he would try to argue that black was white. He's either thick, just loves controversy, is a wind up merchant, or possibly all three. LOL Possibly do the same for Sallad, he only makes a couple of decent posts a year. Unfilter him at AGM time. | argyll eagle
19/12/2015 14:34 | Fair enough Kreature - glass half full/half empty - each to his own - Unfortunately on aim, your view of things has had the upper hand - particularly recently & the bearish view usually more lucrative it seems - hopefully QFi will break the recent pattern of misery as an average default | pcjoe
19/12/2015 13:08 | I apologise . Finding it difficult to take seriously. Expectations are too high imv | kreature
19/12/2015 12:53 | one or two funny statements kreature - "totally closed loop" - But then mentions bleeding excess into sea or such? Re CO2 - The ocean is the biggest carbon capture feature of the planet ( I think i read that somewhere) - If they have found a way to remove CO2 from exhaust gasses & introduce (capture) to the ocean - presumably in the form of Carbonic acid (H2o & Co2) - that must be a good thing re greenhouse gasses? - but maybe not for the barrier reef etc? - unfortunately adding sulphur & any heavy metals/dodgy particulates as well not so good - But then presumably said pollutants are currently being discharged via ship funnels & thence washed back into ocean via rain etc? - So Zero sum game with CO2 capture benefits? - maybe maersk & co can sow the ocean with calcium etc to balance out the extra acidity! Fiendishly tricky choices/decisions to be made for the best on this stuff - Though I do think that Msar does have a future in there somewhere | pcjoe
19/12/2015 12:20 | PC Did you notice that Ecospec have a contact address in Denmark? | argyll eagle |
