05/7/2011 13:36 | I prefers Laxeys conviction backed up by an 11% stake, sentiment has turned here and they are being bought up. Trouble with these brokers opinions is half the time no one knows who sponsored it or if they're any good anyway. Outperform. Underperform. Neutral. Positive. Either buy it, hold it or sell it, also, if I hold something then I'm still a potential buyer as well. IMO | ![]() owenski

05/7/2011 12:29 | St Modwen results have to be positive for the sector...40% INCREASE IN PROFIT, 6% INCREASE IN NAV...the latter alone moves the current price up to the 63p level. QED having re-entered ..will now hold the sixties . If GF is right and potential bidders are 'running the rule over QED'.....then action cannot be too far round the corner! | ![]() wendsworth

05/7/2011 08:01 | 0658 GMT [Dow Jones] Bank of America Merrill Lynch upgrades Big Yellow (BYG.LN) to buy from underperform and raises price target to 340p from 313p following recent share prices weakness. Since the start of '11, the stock has underperformed the market by around 20% and says this is overdone. BofA also upgrades Quintain Estates (QED.LN) to neutral from underperform and raises price target to 63p from 25p, saying the gap between published values and market values has narrowed. However, with the balance sheet still not in great shape, it is too early to turn too optimistic, says BofA. Big Yellow shares closed Monday at 315p and Quintain at 59p. | ![]() cockneyrebel

04/7/2011 09:50 | According to highly regarded FT real-estate correspondent Daniel Thomas, property company St. Modwen are set to give a bullish view on business in its half-year results to-morrow, with certain figures at top end of expectations. See page 26 of FT to-day. Additional good sectoral news which should further buoy returning positive sentiment and indirectly support Quintain's share price ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | ![]() quepassa

03/7/2011 21:31 | bene449 : Yes. Mentioned on more than one occasion last month. G.F. is prone to 'talking-up' prospective bid targets/situations BUT has been measured in his reference to QED i.e. not the usual ' rumours swirled around the market of an imminent bid of ....p'. It's clearly a stock he's been monitoring and I've picked up on his comments ever since Laxey bought their initial stake in January. Reading between the lines I consider GF reckons a bid is a pretty strong probability. That could also be why Laxey has recently doubled its holding to < 11% . QED is definitely a share to be in this year. In essence 'you've got to be innit to winit'! | ![]() wendsworth
03/7/2011 19:38 | Thanks, Wend. Has Geoff Foster covered QED recently in any of his articles? | bene449 |
