The reshuffle will not see Ryan moved: retention of his portfolio is the price of Greens being in Govt.
It was suggested recently that P. O’Donohue should stay as Finance Minister to retain his position as head of an influential Euro Finance group: this was knocked on the head by M. Martin who said they will follow the programme for govt.

No investor will commit money before the lease undertaking is signed. By now I would be surprised if the company hadn’t at least lined up prospective investors subject to the lease undertaking. Ryan and his mob are not trustworthy. Looking at his photo in an earlier article posted here today, I wouldn’t want to met him in a dark space, he looks stone cold scary. No wonder his staff are afraid of him, probably threatens them with murder on a daily basis.

"whether thr comp has the money or not is irrelevant." Who told you that? I would be asking for my money back. lol

Edited: I would draw your attention to Section 3 (c) of the LICENSING TERMS for OFFSHORE OIL and GAS EXPLORATION, DEVELOPMENT & PRODUCTION 2007 which states that "In considering an application the Minister will take the following into account having regard to the authorisation applied for: (c) the financial resources available to the applicant;"

If they need deep pockets then Shell would be my pick, they are well cemented in the eu , and will do the business.

LG would have the means or access to it to fund this. LV has just provided serious fodder for a kegal challenge if need be because whether thr comp has the money or not is irrelevant. Not signing it off is prohibiting comp fro raising funds

Funding has proved difficult in the past. Apec and SpotOn were a crowd of shysters that amounted to 4 plus years of wasted time. Granted prices and circumstances now compared to prices and circumstances then should make Barryroe a much more attractive package, but it still may prove difficult to get any entity to commit to funding with this donkey, and his unscrupulous ways, running the energy department.

media coverage , ryans stance softening and a comment like that from Leo gives me great hope. i think it is a cue from Leo to the company to challengr Ryan asap and show proof of funds. funding this will not be a problem in my opinion. Looks like thus may happen after all. Co needs to move fast.

I'm sure their eu masters have told them to facilitate Barryroe in short order as Europe needs every bit of oil and gas it can get its hands on from legitimate sources.

Swizz , if Leo is wrong making a comment like that surely Providence will have to make a statement to correct it.

Barryroe is once again reference by the RIG in todays leader questions with Leo Varadkar and once again LV confirms that there are no government obstacles to stop the development of Barryroe, but the problem sits with the company (Providence) and specifically the financing of the project, this would seem to fly in the face of previous comments reported that the company has provided letters of financial comfort in support of the Barryroe development, so are the DECC, GSRO and Minister Ryan not sharing this detail with the government?,..GL S

Link below and you can fast forward to circa 32.00 for Varadkar’s response…

Corrib is depleting quicker than Ryan's political support. Leo plays it both ways on Energy Security. Was quick out of the lane to ban all future licences for O&G in a cynical pandering of young naive voters. Wouldnt trust him with a dead nun...

The political narrative is changing and it is clear that those that have the balls to call out Ryan’s hypocrisy are being listened too,…GL S

Tánaiste and Fine Gael leader Leo Varadkar on Wednesday characterised the Green Party position on LNG as “more nuanced” than how it is sometimes portrayed. He said Ireland was “in a relatively good position when it comes to gas security”.

“We have gas coming in from Corrib off Mayo and we have two interconnectors coming from the UK,” he said.

However, he noted that the Corrib field was depleting, and said “you never know what might happen to the pipelines coming over from the UK”.

“So to me it would make sense to have an additional source of supply, to have LNG gas storage, to have another way to get gas onto the island,” he added.

Yes the not much loved EU will put manners on Mr Ego Ryan toute suite. Mehole Martin continues to talk through the side of his ear on energy security. Never was gifted with any brain power was Cork's finest.

Road, that was precisely why the UK left the eu, it was the loss of meaningful sovereign control. However, in this case it should actually help the cause. You have shrill Marxists like Nicola Sturgeon (Scotland) and Eamon Ryan trying to wreak havoc. Both were pro oil and gas exploration when it suited their political ambitions, now they have no actual authority, they spend all day throwing tantrums and to dig their heels in and do as much damage as possible. Now in actual fact they can be overruled where there is a will to do so. The former by the English Parliament, and the latter by the EU parliament. So, it’s definitely a step in the right direction. Right now I would than the lord the you are part of the EU.

Mc Dowell is right as usual. Ryan's attitude to the great unwashed is akin to "let them eat cake". Ryan and his no.2, the much loathed Ms.Martin are pariahs by now...
