What I really want to see is the 1 year forward etc also push up at 70 or over as that would take care of 2020 hedges too . That would allow for next year to be another deleveraging year . I too agree that last year's highs have valid reason to be tested next few months if Brent stays bullish Did say as far back as Nov , bullish oil cycle is Feb to Oct . Only this year we should add tremendous value ZAMA related .

Auto sales in China, India push oil demand up even as EVs grow

All of this will contribute to more oil demand in Asia, including greater reliance on importing oil from the United States. Personal vehicles - from scooters to trucks - account for about 30 percent of global oil demand. Crude demand for automobiles will rise through 2030 and then plateau or begin to fall as EV sales catch up, the report argued.

In China, the market share for SUVs has grown from just 6.6 percent of total car sales a decade ago to a whopping 42 percent in 2018, said WoodMac consultant Yujiao Lei.

India's overall fuel demand should grow by more than 50 percent from 2018 to 2025, Verma said.

Sea Lion oil isn't particuarly heavy at all. There's different definitions of heavy oil, but American Petroleum Institute grades gravity of 29 as medium oil:

"Like light crude, the definition of heavy crude varies by region and by the organization making the determination. In general, if it has an API gravity less than 20, it is considered heavy. At an API gravity of 10, crude oil will have the same density as water. Any API below 10 and the crude sinks in water rather than floating. Oils with an API in this range are often called extra heavy oils. It is estimated that there is twice the amount of heavy crude in reserves than light crude."

Ironically, people here keep banging on about Enquest which is very reliant on heavy oil. Enquests flagship field Kraken has API gravity of 13.7, so Kraken oil is in fact rather like toffee and therefore requires hot water to be injected into the field. Not a surprise then that the reservoir behaviour and processing the oil is problematic.

But Sea Lion oil API gravity is rather higher at 29. So it's like a light syrup, and flows just fine.
