02/7/2021 07:09 | The RNS :- . Powerhouse Energy Group plc (AIM: PHE), the UK technology company seeking to commercialise hydrogen production from non-recyclable waste plastic, announces its partner, Peel NRE, part of Peel L&P, has signed a Letter of Intent to supply hydrogen from its planned roll out of plastic to hydrogen facilities to Element 2's proposed network of hydrogen refuelling stations. Peel NRE is Powerhouse's exclusive development partner for the technology in the UK Under the terms of the DMG Development UK Exclusivity Option Agreement between Peel NRE and Powerhouse (first announced on 9 March 2020), Peel NRE is proposing to develop a hydrogen refuelling station which will take hydrogen produced by Powerhouse technology, from the consented plastic to hydrogen facility at Protos, Cheshire. There are also plans to develop a hydrogen refuelling station at Peel NRE's planned plastic to hydrogen facility in North Clyde, near Glasgow. Whilst the Company is very encouraged by these developments it should be noted that there is no guarantee the facilities will be completed and that the arrangements remain subject to legally binding agreements Tim Yeo, Executive Chair, said: "We welcome Peel's plans to supply hydrogen to Element 2 at Protos with the hydrogen being produced by Powerhouse technology. This would be a significant step in kickstarting the UK's infrastructure for the hydrogen economy, helping accelerate the country's clean energy transition". -ENDS- | skinny
02/7/2021 07:06 | Inspite of them knowing for seven months the CEO was leaving on 30/6/2021, they haven't managed to find a replacement and are now without a CEO. That is a complete and utter disgrace but does not surprise me imo.Lemmings and mushrooms only. | ken chung
01/7/2021 15:52 | Definitely not battery alone for industrial use. No way | moontheloon
01/7/2021 15:52 | Jo Bamford - Is JCB founder Joseph Bamford's grandson. | skinny
01/7/2021 13:21 | Think Jo Bamford (WrightBus) maybe? “I’m not stopping with buses. I’ve got a bunch of highly-skilled engineers . . . who can set their hand to other things.” Lorries and rubbish trucks are the next obvious hydrogen candidates, he suggests, but he clearly doesn’t want to stop there. He says we’re sitting at the start of a “100-year energy super cycle, like Shell and BP at the beginning of the last century”. | skinny
01/7/2021 13:09 | Thanks skinny I have just learned something, some councils still own/operate their own fleets and Glasgow are buying some hydrogen fuel cell ones, from Germany by the look of it I think FAUN Rotopress "BluePower" based on a MAN chassis. From what I can glean from a quick review this is an electric battery truck with a hydrogen fuel cell range extender which has been in development since 2019. Come on then Dennis, if this is the future get on it! Glasgow is the proposed second site, who at Protos has a hydrogen truck fleet on order? | marktime1231

01/7/2021 12:52 | Do councils own/operate their own bin lorry fleets these days, I thought they were all contracted out? Makes sense to start with those lorries though, if the refuelling station is going to be located at the waste dump. Truly circular. Might need a redesign of the lorry though, all the volume is currently dedicated to carrying waste not a huge pressurised hydrogen tank and fuel cell and battery (and diesel engine back up?). Where are the likes of Dennis on hydrogen fuel cell dumper trucks? | marktime1231
01/7/2021 10:19 | Nice. But low base still. You've done well skinny | moontheloon

01/7/2021 08:15 | Added another purely speculative nibble, if they do actually pull this off it will be a great investment and can imagine be amazing at local community levels, or every council fuelling bin trucks etc with their own great supply of waste product. | moontheloon
01/7/2021 08:00 | 1) PHE, 10/8/2020 (announced 10/8/2020): Director Brent Fitzpatrick - leaves. 2) PHE, 31/3/2021 (announced 23/10/2020): Chairman Cameron Davies - leaves. 3) Chairman Tim Yeo, PHE (Interview) 6/6/2021: "I don't want to suggest everything will go smoothly for the first of the kind. It may spew out some things we didn't expect or didn't want" 4) PHE (Press release), 29/6/2021: "the Company recognise that new sources of uncertainty may be discovered as qualification progresses" And the word 'sources' is plural. 5) PHE, 30/6/2021 (announced 20/11/2020): CEO David Ryan - leaves. 6) PHE (announced 30/6/2021): Director Mark Berry - will leave before 2021 AGM. 7) PHE (announced 30/6/2021): Director & Corporate Finance expert James Greenstreet - will leave after 2022 AGM. 8) PHE (Annual Results) 30/6/2021: "As a result of design variations arising from the value improvement exercise for the site a Section 73 revision for the planning will now be submitted by Peel NRE. This is likely to result in a delay in the planned completion of construction and start of operation of the plant." Total comprehensive loss, Yr to 31/12/2020 = £15,837,741 Lemmings and mushrooms only. | ken chung

30/6/2021 23:09 | Genuine news and an important piece of the jigsaw for Peel and PHE, if you are going to produce hydrogen you need someone to take it. Element 2 it seems will build a hydrogen refuelling station, near or at Protos, to receive the hydrogen from PHE's plant which it was / is not clear how it will be handled, stored, shipped etc. Details to be developed, and no rush while the plant is still on the drawing board. And Element 2 will then be able to refuel a fleet of HGVs or buses ... a carrot to a local authority to commit to hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, to be developed. I wonder who is actually building the refuelling station, managing the safety case etc, Element 2 is a venture developer not a tech company. A strange choice of name, hydrogen is element one. A bit of research required. | marktime1231
