Simon , it`s going to take time for sure.

Here`s some of Deutsche`s note this morning..

(ShareCast News) - Poundland shares surged after Deutsche Bank upgraded the company from 'hold' to 'buy' - a move it said was controversial - but cut its price target from 200p to 180p.

It said the company has had a challenging start to the year, but believed the company can help itself to offset the challenges it faces.

It also noted consensus earnings for the year to the end of March have fallen by 40%, due to weak sales and the 99p Stores business.

"We have little expectation that like for like sales trends will improve in the near-term, so operational deleverage risks remain."

However, Deutsche Bank did see two years of "exceptionally strong" earnings growth, and believed positive catalysts from the company's multi-price trials in the UK could alleviate concerns about the business model.

Good luck phil I don't want to knock the company I could be wrong on growth. Needs to maintain a far rise however in order to see recovery from any bottoming.

We all want to make money not lose it.

PLND just about held on to a gain , my only one , but with two FTSE100 shorts, a FTSE250 short and a BRBY short my portfolio is now +6% for 2016 so can't complain. Should have got some gold exposure though ... RRS gangbusters.

Good timing phil,Hopefully we will soon break the 1.50 and hang onto it. While the market is only up a little so far, this is performing at present and for once this year my monitor is looking very blue.

Still a good 2 way pull around 139p - 142p , but need to find a bottom which takes time.

Changing watch batteries sounds like a good competitive business for someone LOL. I normally make my money from the stock market I don't think I will achieve that here. I can see the store openings going into reverse shutting the non profitable ones or changing them into a new format. To many question marks to invest at the moment.

25p in stores is just for this month .... up to 50p starting march 1st

Unfortunately the 25 pence3 store could only hold £39.75 pence of stock so not enough orders to fill it up.

With wafer thin margins the 25 pence store couldn't afford the delivery premium.

Popped in my local Tesco Extra today. I don't normally make a feature of it, as I don't like the brand.
They were selling Oatibix at £1.34 for a 24 box. As far as I know, that is unheard of. It appears to be a new policy to try to get back customers and market share.
Will it impact on the discounters?

No position phil just watching. To be honest I don't like any the food retailers margins too small.

Interesting concept however and I do pick the odd things up particularly their £1 glasses ( reading glasses). Cheap as chips and does the job as ruin many glasses.

Prospective pe ratio in double digits too high imo.

Morrison cutting prices won't help.

Market saturated with WILKO AND B&M all trying to reduce cost.
