LOL schofip, enough to start a business fitting batteries or do you think you will need 30 if the lifetime of each is limited. or was it a case that in Bolton they just wanted someone to take the stock out the shop to save on dumping costs?

Volume so low but as it picks up so will the price I expect as sellers are drying up it seems.

As I don't normally post on here. I will clarify that I am not a holder of shares but have been waiting (since 2.35) to see how things map out with a view to buying. interestingly after being quoted £10 to change the battery in my watch by Timpsons I bought 30 for £1 @plnd and did it myself. So not all bad news.

The store in question was in Bolton next door to home bargains and ASDA.

Which store schofip? As volume picks up we can expect this to once again to bounce around as the larger buyers build holdings I expect.

That gardening range could be a really big hit for Poundland pulling loads of new customers, a real achievement.

Re my last post about christmas stock. The other more worrying observation was at 11:00 I was the only customer and i was out numbered by visible staff 3-1.

Pretty good phil bearing in mind the ravishing the bulk of stocks are suffering.

Couple of good days and it will bounce well back and maybe break the 1.50 mark and hold it to build upon it.

The founder of easyJet has opened a discount food store that is selling everyday groceries for 25p each.

Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou has launched easyFoodstore in an attempt to take advantage of the fast-growing discount market in the UK, which is led by Aldi and Lidl.

The venture could eventually be another threat to the “big four” supermarket chains – Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons.

They are already battling dramatic changes in shopping habits as families turn away from the weekly trip to a supermarket in favour of buying food online, in convenience stores and with the discounters. The supermarket chains also face the threat of Amazon expanding into groceries in the UK.

The pilot easyFoodstore has opened in Park Royal in north-west London. It will sell items for 25p each in February as an introductory offer. The retailer’s slogan is “No expensive brands. Just food honestly priced.”

EasyFoodstore will sell a range of grocery items including pasta, biscuits and beans. However, the list of initial products does not include fresh meat or fruit and vegetables.

Haji-Ioannou, who has run food initiatives through a charitable organisation in Greece and Cyprus, said: “This is another way the easy brand can serve the less well-off. Given my experience in distributing food for free in Greece and Cyprus, this is a more commercial attempt to sell basic food for 25p per item to those unwaged or low waged living around Park Royal.”

29% year on year is excellent . Even better it`s likely to surpass this as shoppers are really price conscious these days .

NY is everywhere today spreading the gloom .He must be a hoot at parties .

I was in yesterday schofip. Shop was packed as always . People just go in for everything . The strange thing is they ALL buy multiple items and the queues are long .

Poundland may have a Pound value coming up before any meaningful bounce?

Worryingly the banks never participated in the recent market bounce off the lows, more downside seems highly likely
