RBS suggests sell everything expect quality bonds because of deflation - well Poundland would be one of the few companies that would benefit from deflation I expect, and be one of the biggest winners if they are correct.

Great fun , over 200 turned up for it , lebanese lunch over the road first, groups of four, very nice portugese and swiss ladies with me and my wife in our group of four and we came 6th :-)

Forgotten what a beautiful place that V&A museum was.... and a nice meet up at the Royal Albert Hall bar afterwards.

Poundland faces "serious structural problems", according to an analyst.

Ben Hunt, of Shore Capital Stockbrokers, predicted the cheap chain would be hit by increased competition for big-name brands and falling appeal for own-label products.

It slashed this year's profit forecast by 12%, and the next two years' by 6%.

Poundland admitted a drop in high street shoppers dented Christmas trading.

Agree red , they`ve been recruiting like crazy lately as well :-)

So just -19.5% this week .

I really thought there would have been a bounce today, but a lot used the initial rise to get out.

Starting to look like a lost cause. There is no chart support.

Living in hope rather than conviction at present.
Nobody with any sense gives any credence to forecast numbers thrown out by the tintins. Just look at the history of any stock.

Haitong Securities have cut their target from 160p to 140p retaining 'sell'

Having listened to the CC yesterday would certainly not identify with Peel Hunt's S-SEA comments (according to Citywire he has a ‘buy’ recommendation and 400p target price on the shares): ‘Poundland has now set out a clear strategic vision for the next three to five years and we are encouraged,..."

Not withstanding the precarious business model, ejection from FTSE-250 at next index shuffle looks likely and i doubt many ii have had time to preempt this. Still seems odd why CEO & FD materially upped their holdings last Dec ...

Change of tone today, those going short seem to been done and dusted having turned a nice profit.Onwards and upwards.
