Plus500 (PLUS) suffered an 82 per cent drop in revenue during the first quarter as lower market volatility weighed on client trading appetite. Average revenue per user and active customer numbers were down by more than half on the same time the prior year.
PLUS:LSE
Plus500 Ltd

The number of new customers acquired during the period was also a third of that a year earlier at 21,306, although up 10 per cent on the prior quarter. Elective professionals accounted for 49 per cent of revenue from the European Economic Area, while revenue generated outside that geographic area made up 54 per cent of the group’s total.

Management said it was “too early to draw conclusions about the full-year outcome”, but analysts downgraded their earnings forecasts for 2019. Brokerage Peel Hunt cut its adjusted pre-tax profit and EPS forecasts for the year by more than a third to $163m and 111ȼ, and downgraded its dividend forecast to 89ȼ a share.

In February management warned that revenue for 2019 would miss market expectations at the time, with tighter restrictions on the sale of leveraged products to retail investors having a more severe impact than initially anticipated.

IC View

Shares were down around a quarter on the back of this update and change hands at just six times forecast earnings for 2019. However, given the inherent lack of visibility in revenue and profitability and elevated marketing spending – as it seeks to win new clients – we remain sellers.

Yes I have been mentioning the cash all along.
And no demands on it .
They can do with it as they wish.

Indeed as soon as feeding time is over for the shorts, this will climb.

No body seems to be talking about this company’s ability to increase operating leverage... they have a pile of cash if they don’t want to raise debt they can use that for operating leverage. Increase revenue and keep same low cost... very accretive for bottom line if that’s is what you all seem to be focusing (ignoring the pile of cash)...

Crypto currencies have gone mental since 30th March. It's back on everyone's radar again. I would guess trading has picked up for plus.A simple search of Twitter and everybody is talking about it again. Some serious changes since 30th March. Could see a wild quarter for plus :)

Please read the 10 page long(!) very honest analysis by Liberum Capital( house broker). Yes house broker. Brings out negative things so does not gloss over.
That’s for people who want to hold on and work with reality too.
Anyway it’ll do what it wants in the coming days . Kitchener all over again.... “They want your shares!!! “

Yes I have. But I can’t be bothered to resurrect the numbers.
I feel a certain overpowering sense of doom washing in.
Been here before
As Moneypenny says...Brokers read numbers too. No-one has it less than £7.70
Chatboards are a wonderfully efficient way to panic ( some) people.
Do they really want the best for holders in encouraging them to panic sell?? What is the motivation?
It breeds worry. No- one should base their decision on chat but it’s not fair to unsettle them .
Unless in real altruism you want the best for them and want them to sell for that reason? Hmm
Yes seen the figures many times. Read brokers’reports many times.
Been here many times
Don’t like it but it’s how it is

chart suggests support at about 300 but I guess charts have less relevance in this type of situation and normally nothing goes down in a straight line and there will be
some bounces .

Fenners we have all looked at the numbers and so have all the brokers... the chance of them making zero is zero. Show me one credible estimate form a broker that supports your argument as having some logic. Let’s argue but let’s also be reasonable...

There are 2% declared shorts. One of them was invisible at 0.4% until 9th April when they shorted 0.2% more.
They are wily. There could be many shorters under the 0.5% threshhold. Yes really.
Moneypenny is right. Institutions wheter shorters or not need to buy at low price in order to sell at higher or cover shorts.
This could go down or up or both in one day. Or all week. It’s well overdone already but it is a credible company not under threat!! We are at 2013 s/price now. Year one!!
Yes they do want you to sell cheap by the way. All parties do.
Ride the storm and realize a paper loss is just that. Mine is very large so I rely on the truth and a no-debt cash-rich adaptive company.
Screw the directors. It’s what they do. On 2018 performance. Who cares? Look at the next 6-9 months and...yes...don̵7;t let the shorters and opportunist fund managers bully you.
But if u wanna sell go go ahead and crystallize. It’s game -time for a few weeks....it’s what they do. Same as in Feb. And March. Called” Slump and Play”.!

there aren't that many shorting this at these levels - check the short interest - it isn't much. The only ones really benefiting from this are the 2 directors who are milking it with their outrageous salaries.

Everyone seems to be waiting for the price to go lower to “top up” as if the shorts will let you top up. Shorts need to buy also to cover their shorts and realise their gains...this comes back to my comment about “don’t let the shorts bully you” they want you to panic and sell so they can close their shorts with your sells... been around too long to know how the game is played. I am long long long no need for this to be below 650.

Maddog68, you take what the market gives you... markets were very volatile back then and I had spotted a consistent pattern (timing “inefficiency”) which lasted for about a week and which I exploited. Eventually it died though because others spotted it too. But like I said you take what the market gives you.
