30/11/2018 19:32 | You cannot be sued for stating something that is true | dennislevine
30/11/2018 19:29 | If I posted this, I would be sued. No reason for me to jump the gun, it will come out in time. There are others on this site that are aware of this | elcapital2018
30/11/2018 19:21 | That I cannot understand. If you are short, have an ultra strong conviction as to why you are short, no reason whatsoever not to share your insights as to why you have that view or what this mystery "rumour" might be . If you have no insights to share of any value then I fully understand the reticence. | dennislevine
30/11/2018 19:11 | you were never going to. i cant put that on a public bb | elcapital2018
30/11/2018 19:03 | Splendid - I have learnt nothing from you. Goodbye | dennislevine
30/11/2018 19:00 | its not the rumour that will tip this, its the actual news. When it get proved is hard part Surely you lot havent wondered why the figured are so good all the time, why they dont suffer from market fallouts even though they dont hedge? Up to you, I dont care what you do | elcapital2018
30/11/2018 18:57 | if the outcome was as binary as you suggest the hedge funds would have a much higher overall short position and they most likely would have publicly made available their short thesis by now. It is perhaps more enlightening that given the number of funds that are short not one has gone public with any short thesis whatsoever. Suggests they are short for similar reasons and not because there is a "dynamite" "rumour" out there. largest individual short is 1.49% - not exactly the definition of all in. Odey have a short in Debenhams of 7.21% - seems they have conviction there. Why are all the Plus shorters lacking similar conviction to short more? as you are the only one that seems to know about this "rumour" you should load up everything on your short, publish your "rumour" and retire into the sunset. | dennislevine
30/11/2018 18:48 | Come on ElC a rumour is worth nothing until it's spread. If 'many in the City' knew your biggie--as long a it really is a biggie--then Plus would be on the floor. If you can't spill the beans than just keep your trap shut. | saltraider
30/11/2018 18:38 | why do you think they have a 150m quid short. they know alright, many in the city do | elcapital2018
30/11/2018 18:36 | you must be all in then on your short if this "rumour" you are aware of, but no-one else is, is so good. even the hedge funds that are currently short appear not to know about this as they are not all in and some have reduced their short positions. you should go and knock on some doors in Mayfair and offer your services. | dennislevine
30/11/2018 18:32 | it is dynamite. i will not. | elcapital2018
30/11/2018 18:31 | why not, we're all grown ups. If its just a rumour, then no attribution at all so no problem in stating what the rumour is | dennislevine
30/11/2018 18:29 | its past a rumour. cant post it on a bb | elcapital2018
30/11/2018 18:28 | What's the rumour then | dennislevine
30/11/2018 18:24 | not a 100% failsafe strategy, but you will get most right when the hedgies are heavily short. cant believe you lot dont know the rumour here, its been around for some time | elcapital2018
30/11/2018 18:18 | Elcapital2018 - to make money all I need to do is short the stocks that are already shorted. Sounds straightforward. | dennislevine
30/11/2018 17:37 | kier biggest shorted stock in market, down 35 % today more than 50% since results you have been warned losers | elcapital2018
30/11/2018 16:47 | Nice bowl forming here. So, for mug punters like me, looking good for 1750'ish early next year. Added again below 1520's. Good weekend! | sogoesit
30/11/2018 12:54 | In reply to financethoughts #16234. The article was about a mechanical, rules based stock picking method. Plus was being sold simply because it no longer met all the rules, namely that the 2019 forecast is lower than the 2018 forecast. You can see the reasoning here: Although this firm’s results have a track record of beating expectations, it does seem likely to me that the new leverage limits and the likely end of the cryptocurrency boom will hit profits from the group’s fairly inexperienced client base. In any case, forecasts for falling earnings mean that the shares no longer pass all of my screening tests and must be sold from the SIF folio. | freda
30/11/2018 12:35 | The Fibonacci Retracement would be a great title for a Dan Brown book! | s_a_b
30/11/2018 12:07 | I should add, PLUS is rated as a ‘Super Stock’ with a 98/100 score on the main Stockopedia ranking page.. the other reference was just to an author article. So clearly the author not referring to their own ratings! I’m glad, and not surprised, to see PLUS pulling back up into the £15’s, and no doubt £16 & £17’s by pre-close trading update at end of calendar year. A short pullback when IGG report sluggish results (poor operating margin vs PLUS) against an improving CFD macro backdrop. | financethoughts
30/11/2018 12:07 | Hello Chucky, My Fibonacci retracement was modelled on a few incorrect assumptions namely my time period was too short! If we look into the longer term, it will still hold. I expect 1300p now by Christmas instead. | doomongor
30/11/2018 11:58 | Doomongor, I presume you have given up on Fibonacci. Who is it now, Pythagoras? | chucko1 |
