Love the 5yr graph on the IG board, really does make you want to put your hand in your pocket - perhaps El C, rackers etc could go there and leave us in peace - CMC board is pretty quiet as well.

I suspect there will be back-up of better trading conditions in CMC's outlook tomorrow and IG's in early December.

Given the VIX and other volatility measures (interesting exercise in Liberums note yesterday) CFD operators should be making hay and PLUS, as the most operationally geared, should be making the most.

Great comments Noujay (10.36am) - couldn’t agree more. Reflecting on a great update & response by the market yesterday. It’ll be a fantastic result to finish flat/down 1 percent today given the rise yesterday & the state of the market generally. The company was undoubtedly hit fairly hard when ESMA kicked in, at a time of pretty low volatility, and perhaps because it takes longer to categorise retail investors as professional status. Nonetheless, this is a very efficient company, has been for a long time if you study their accounts, and they predicted an impact from ESMA for ‘a couple of quarters’ if I recall. So, combined with higher VIX, looks like they are clearly starting to see a return to strong trading conditions. Q4 figures & any further pre-close updates will be key. Predictions for year end rev, and net profit/fcf etc will be difficult as many variables over the 2 trading quarters to consider. I’ll be taking a punt at those figures nearer the time. Either way, yesterday’s update clearly paints a more upbeat picture. Will also take input from how much the shorts choose (or not) to reduce positions. All the best. FT

Every day this churns out a boatload of cash on small operating costs as a result of their huge efficiency in marketing and tech.Yesterday's statement was very encouraging and the extended global volatility is firmly bedded in. Throw in some decent performance in the newer markets along with the possibility of expansion and it's hard to see this as doing anything but continuing to win.
