Gold up £50 in a week, too. Could be just noise, I suppose, but it's a quicker movement than normal, tying in with some hefty swings in bond yields recently. (A 0.1% swing on 2-years is almost starting to feel like normal.) It just feels like the economic foundations are having a little shake. Whether it amounts to anything or not remains to be seen but it should be good for business, as should higher rates on the £700m cash balance, which is now up to 2/3rds of market cap, and the slightly stronger $.

VIX has ben elevated for 3 weeks plus. Credit default swaps and junk bond yields have been rising a bit. PLUS seems to be going the wrong way relative to these.

Ah - sorry on the short positions thing - that was a guess on my behalf. Apologies. Didn't mean to disinform. I can't actually see a floor for these at the moment whilst we wait with baited breath for news on 24th. Can see it going low 12's but with the seller in the background where's the actual floor (£8? Is that parity with the cash holdings)

I think the shorters are using it as an excuse perhaps? Plus haven't come out and said any of their services have been degraded because of recent events.

I think someone knows something we (the shareholders) don't.

We've been here before (market cap vs net cash position) and ..........it never moves as people think. The only difference now, compared to 18 months ago or 5 years ago is that there are considerably less shares available. Otherwise...........same old, same old.

Let's see what the update brings.
