pj fozzie I'm also heavily weighted here but not worried....will add more if share price falls further as here for the dividend.

Funny things happen - like CSN being quite steady today!

Certainly odd activity, and the 16:35 UT of 27m was a bit heavy.

It WAS an uncrossing trade-and yes anybody from CWA1 to Aviva COULD have been involved...

If it was an uncrossing trade then either Aviva or Vanguard could also have been involved.

The 26.7M trade was not a "sell". It was the normal daily uncrossing trade in which buyers and sellers were matched(albeit large in scale!). I for one was on the "buy" side for better or worse...

Re: #4179: That volume was only due to one institution making a disposal. it must have been either Standard Life Investments, Artemis or Threadneedle Asset Management since they are the only investors who were holding more than 25m shares yesterday.

Ouch! And that's the problem with having a portfolio heavily weighted towards one share. 10K down on PHNX today - whole portfolio is 14K down.

Oh well, not gonna panic. Still confident that the div is safe.

Cheers,
PJ

The late 26.7m Sell should produce an RNS - interesting to see which institution disposed !

Decided to try for a few in the auction, put in a limit of 720 but didn't expect to get any at that level. However I got filled at 716.8p and now I'm not sure whether to be happy or sad ;-)

Perspective - less than 0.4% of issued shares traded today - only twice the average daily trading volume. Average transaction was circa 300 shares - or just over £2000. Mostly retail sales.

Only 7.2% down on the day, with still no clear guidance on management plans - nothing to see here, move along now ...

"What the hell is going on here?"

It's the usual cliché, investors & the market hate uncertainty. A few days ago, management confirmed they were assessing an approach for their European business. But since then, zilch on the implications for earnings and the dividend, how quickly they'd look to deploy the proceeds, etc.

At the very least, I'd want to see a very clear justification, with figures, for how this could be beneficial to shareholders; particularly those primarily here for income.

I was wondering that!
Looking at the chart it does like to jump off the high board and is pretty volatile for a big stock. It was well overbought so maybe just a technical correction on the chart. I have a few of these for the dividend but I'd rather it didn't upset my stomach!

Optimistic angle: if they went ahead and then immediately bought an equally (or more) profitable income stream with the proceeds, that would clearly be seen as a good outcome.

Ironically, I diverted proceeds to Phoenix from (amongst others) Pennon, because the latter announced plans to sell off their profitable stake in Viridor.
