I been in Poly for 2 weeks. 80% of Poly business is outside Russia, keep comparing apple and oranges.

I am up 53% on Poly, are you up here?

It’s a lot more difficult to block gold sales, much easier to trade gold without putting it through the books.

How are US sanctions going to stop Russia selling to China and India? Even if they could it wont stop companies selling just the central bank and members of the Russian parliament by all accounts.

Depends whether the US/EU measures just announced block Russian gold from being sold to China and India etc? Of course they could do it secretly (having to accept a big discount probably), but if companies in China or India risk being sanctioned themselves if discovered, they might not want to take the risk?

The U.S. Treasury issued a notice that gold transactions with Russia are prohibited, citing executive orders signed by President Joe Biden.

The directive is the first time the agency has made it clear to the gold market to stop dealing with sanctioned Russian entities. Russia has spent years building the fifth biggest stash of gold in the world, and it’s being targeted now because sales of it could shore up the ruble, which has plunged as global economies isolate Russia following its invasion of Ukraine.

Yip. I am not selling for the odd 50%. Ive done that witj other shares over the yrs only to see them 10bag. Actailly at evraz at 57p in 2011 and i sold at 82p. Only to see it go to 600p.

I had centamin egypt at 33p during the middle east uprising only to see the price hit 300p.

I am holding for multi baggers. This is a once a lifetime opportunity. Its all or lose all for me.

I think the problem with POG and the other Russian shares is that a lot of people aren't willing to hold overnight, as any one of them could be suspended at 0700, even if the risk of that is low. So you end up with day traders scalping a few ticks and then selling, that will be most of the daily volume IMO.
