That's very off. I'm disappointed to hear it. I'd consider changing brokers if it were me. HL are showing they are not political, not taking sides to be politically correct which is a nonsense!

Steve - I was just trying to buy some shares. But IG and Spreadex aren't allowing buys in anything with a Russian connection.

Galeforce. Are you trying to spreadbet? My broker is HL. Wide spread but I kept getting quotes, then left it for a while until I got the price I was after!

Steve - which broker did you use to buy POG shares? The 2 platforms I use are both 'closing trades only', which is frustrating.

I agree that it's a very good thing that Strukov has gone. Thanks for that info on the buyers of his 29% stake.

The size of this stake has created havoc for POG for a long time now. It would be much better for the company if it could be split up.

The MoEX remains closed until at least 18/3 which may be extended. Russian investors have been unable to trade POG whllst the Exchange has been closed.

When POG does come back there will be panic selling I expect but coupled with panic buying at relief that Strukov has moved on!

With Strukov now gone (uninvestible for me whilst he was there) I have dipped a toe back in and will wait for developments. I exited completely in the 30's.

The new 29% holder of Strukov's stake, REGION Financial Services, is likely to be non-predatory and hopefully benevolent. I don't see them adding to exceed 30% and then bidding for the rest of the company.

Region FS is a large shopping centre developer and holder of these kind of investments. It's not another gold miner like UGC. This may be an opportunistic investment to take advantage of a fire sale situation where they had access to the cash (Strukov debt unmanageable) and where they hold for a while then sell on later pocketing a decent profit.

In the future I'd like to see this stake broken up and sold in 2 or more chunks so it is more difficult for another oligarch to take POG out.
