what you doing here superiorape? Follow my lead? Hold your nerve, only a few days before going skyward. Leave the JLP mob to sink. Something very wrong with that one.

Everyone cashed in? Very quiet on this thread now, main effort will be to close above 435p resistance , need some positive news flow though or higher oil prices.

Exactly right, oohrogerpalmer. The only way to make any money is to back your OWN judgement at all times. If you still don't make money - get out of the friggin' market 'cos you're no good at it. You can't blame anyone else, 'cos you made your own decisions. The SFO might be better employed investigating all the dodgy deals that go on in the stockmarket, rather than some backhanders in the oil business (give me a break!) - but of course they never would because they'd never get to the bottom of it in a trillion years. But that's how it is. Accept that... and do it to them before they do it to you!!

They are no better than racing tipsters at the end of the day.
IF they were so good at it they wouldn't be working writing in share mags!!!!

I bought more for my kids' ISAs at 4.18. It will be some years before they need the money.

hi luderitz

i had several Years in the City of London and my only strategy is to manage my risk in a disciplined and profitable way.

i do look for "special situations" though, where the price has lost all sense with reality and then i choose to buy or sell accordingly.

all the best

That article has clearly been placed to knock the price to allow some ii to buy/close- The reverse of the ramping non-sense that we normally see, that allows ii to sell into strength. Green at Bernstein`s quoted but for whom, in this case?

A trading update that wasn't that exciting enough to drive us through 435p resistance, sold a chunk @ 432p earlier, bought some @ 416p. Could do with some contracts wins to get the fuel to take us to another level, otherwise 435p will remain as resistance for some time. Only a dropping of the SFO charges will drive s really high to about 750/800p again but that could be some time off yet.

Spin article, I expected these after the recovery, spin up and spin down. Telegraph starting early. Not saying that Jillian Ambrose was trying to help with the knock down, but would be interested to know if she is a freelance or staff!

That telegraphic article has been written with a slant, the slant is inherent in the final para.sort of financial journalism we've got nowadays

Does anyone know who these AQR guys are?

They started to short PFC just before the SFO (I think)...

Are they big, small, medium?
