Posted at 21/3/2024 14:41 by jaknife The last accounts were poor:If you read the notes the Going Concern statement is worrying. They expect to breach covenants in June 2025 . Ideally you try to do something to avoid a covenant breach rather than just waiting until it happens! There are significant risks to the downside so it's not a surprise to see people selling. Posted at 01/11/2023 21:27 by tigerbythetail Why would anybody buy these shares?First up, buying the debt would be a much safer play. But even that is too risky for me. For my money PDL is now on a downward spiral to a second debt-for-equity swap, wiping out current shareholders. IMO, it would take quite a turnaround in the diamond market and an amazing run of special stones for them to avoid this fate. |
Posted at 27/7/2023 09:12 by davethehorse Diamond market showing early signs that it's ready to begin a bounce back, as has PDL and GEMD, could be huge gains to be had from these levels imo, gl holders |
Posted at 26/4/2023 07:14 by davethehorse Decent Q1 operational update from GEMD this morning, unsure why PDL so weak of late but looks a good buy in price currently to me. |
Posted at 11/4/2023 09:20 by davethehorse Think the miners about to go on a decent bull run, likes of PDL and GEMD look very cheap currently.. |
Posted at 31/3/2023 09:07 by davethehorse PDL on the move folks... |
Posted at 10/3/2023 11:00 by davethehorse Time to load up with value stocks...PDL and GEMD look like they may fit the bill.. |
Posted at 30/11/2022 08:01 by farrugia isn't this mine a minor part of PDL on the whole? |
Posted at 28/7/2022 07:22 by king suarez Historically this has been a bad investment for private investors, now the debt position is drastically lower than pre-debt for equity swap and easily serviceable with the healthy cash position and cash flow.As I said, the net debt position was only $40m as at 30 June - you can check the latest accounts, cash was around $288m with a big chunk of diamond debtors on top of that due. They could pay most/all of the current debt down with current liquidity and earn far more in free cash flow than needed to service the current debt interest. I think PDL will be paying dividends well before 2027. Not sure the bondholders, who own most of the business, would vote for being taken private at an undervaluation - afterall, they will want more cream through capital appreciation (and potentially dividends) surely? |
