jonwig: There's a couple of articles in last week's IC on PDL. Results review concludes "Hold" and a trader is buying thinking prices have bottomed. I can't find much evidence of that on the web, but this chart might help:
swinsco: The PDL nonsense resumes.
74tom: A fairly basic article, which I suppose is intended to be 'well balanced'. The key question to ask is why PDL Enterprise Value is currently ~$300-400m less than before the restructuring? This is particularly relevant given the improving diamond market, and $50m net debt reduction in the last quarter. They also have a new CEO & vastly reduced CAPEX spend vs the period 2014-18, which is what caused the problems in the first place...
jwilkes1: The positive stance re the bondholders though I believe is as follows: 1) they converted debt for shares at a price equivalent to around 3.5p 2) these bondholders have representation on the PDL board with non exec directors
74tom: Professional Traders I'm guessing? It's certainly undervalued, especially as the focus of the improved diamond market is on larger stones, in which Cullinan specialises. FY22 is off to a flyer with the $40m sale and with exceptional stones contributing $60.2m in FY21, it would seem possible PDL could top $100m in exceptional sales this year. That would bring in a chance of exceeding $500m in revenues, which would see between $150-200m in FCF and net debt brought right down. At that point you would think they would look to refinance the 2026 loan notes, as the 10.5% interest rate is irritating. Considering the loan notes total $336m and unrestricted cash was $156m at 30/06, repaying the lot isn't as fanciful as it would seem, although I suspect they will refinance to a lower level to retain financial flexibility. Having now completed my research, this has got all of the ingredients of a really solid recovery play.
davethehorse: II action I assume, diamond market on fire. PDL and GEMD should make hay :-)
richie32: Just curious. So today some valuable diamonds have been discovered. Does anyone know how pdl deals with security? If I was a miner and saw those diamonds I would be tempted to have them for myself.
richie32: Sorry for my ignorance but the holdings RNS reports Vontobel holdings now sitting on nearly 18% of PDL. Is this something to do with the restructure?
laptop15: $699m (pre debt) - $337m (post debt) = $362m (~£260m) swapped for 91% valuing the 9% pre equity at £25m with 865m shares prior to the deal £25m/865m ~= 2.9p per #PDL so why it is trading at 1.3p?! ?? ? what am I getting wrong?!Good calculation on the restructuring by someone on twitter.Good discount currently available at share price should rise soon in imo....I'm buying more
hodhasharon: Share Price vs. Fair Value 86.2% Undervalued Current Price UK£0.018 Fair Value UK£0.13 Below Fair Value: PDL (£0.02) is trading below our estimate of fair value (£0.13) Significantly Below Fair Value: PDL is trading below fair value by more than 20%.
