Posted at 17/9/2024 23:12 by southcbubble I had held these shares and made money on them. But for me I cannot see this share performing well, so I am out. Hope this share turns around for it shareholders. But all I am seeing is a shareholder wipe out |
Posted at 21/3/2024 14:41 by jaknife The last accounts were poor:If you read the notes the Going Concern statement is worrying. They expect to breach covenants in June 2025 . Ideally you try to do something to avoid a covenant breach rather than just waiting until it happens! There are significant risks to the downside so it's not a surprise to see people selling. Posted at 01/11/2023 21:27 by tigerbythetail Why would anybody buy these shares?First up, buying the debt would be a much safer play. But even that is too risky for me. For my money PDL is now on a downward spiral to a second debt-for-equity swap, wiping out current shareholders. IMO, it would take quite a turnaround in the diamond market and an amazing run of special stones for them to avoid this fate. |
Posted at 27/7/2023 09:12 by davethehorse Diamond market showing early signs that it's ready to begin a bounce back, as has PDL and GEMD, could be huge gains to be had from these levels imo, gl holders |
Posted at 19/5/2023 06:47 by 74tom This was always going to be under the cosh given the huge debt it was saddled with by previous management.I also think they are paying the price for the huge reduction in CAPEX that took place in 2021 post the bondholder agreement. Capital allocation was unbalanced towards paying down gross debt and production misses have been the result. The decline in diamond prices has then compounded their problems. It was high risk but the shareholder rewards would have been huge IF production & pricing had held up long enough to clear debt & start paying dividends again. Alas that didn’t happen & now they look to be heading backwards in the near term. |
Posted at 18/10/2019 09:05 by fuji99 I think Petra's turn around will seriously start from next week following its update as it has already made loads of investments. The fact that Rio Tinto closed the biggest mine in the world will impact on the supply/demand side leading to diamond price increase. Adding reduced tensions between the US and China before year end, this will give a good kick start to this sector which always takes off around this pre- Chirstmas period. So any flagged up positives next Monday will take the share price to another dimension. Keeping in mind that as earlier as last June the share price was within 20p - 30p band without any positives. So I am looking for a share price band of 30p - 50p in the next 6 to 12 months, that is 400% - 600% from where we are now. PDL share price is at all time low so we cannot dig deeper than where we are for a miner with sales of $495 million and a market cap of just £60 millions. |
