05/1/2021 20:38 | Cheers arja - we have contrasting approaches. I look at individual stock fundamentals and some macro/industry sector trends. I have no charting skills at all lol | bmel
05/1/2021 20:12 | thanks for info bmel and I must do that . I generally trade or sometimes hold a position using charts and this stock does have a good looking uptrending chart. today was disappointing of course . | arja
05/1/2021 19:57 | this not a tech heavy fund. Hotels, restaurants, retail are big also Fannie Mae and Pershing Square Tontine Holdings. The BIG unknown (adnd attraction) is what Ackman will do with the as yet univested SPAC - expected to be a big deal and a majot enhancement to the NAV. (I am not certain but i think PSH has about 20% of it). Google the PSH site and you can see portfolio information. Lokk at their most recent report to shareholders (Nov I think) makes really interesting reading. | bmel
05/1/2021 18:16 | thanks for that and I did not realise . But surely the portfolio is tach based or am I wrong and nasdaq held up today ? | arja
05/1/2021 11:10 | arja most of the stocks in PSH portfolio took a hit in yesterdays US market hence the drop | bmel
05/1/2021 10:52 | came off yesterday after a grest start and drifting down a bit today . I think it tends to consolidate for a while before sharp moves higher and hope that happens again | arja
05/1/2021 10:50 | it was bmel but really ca,ke | arja
04/1/2021 13:57 | hi arja - coming along nicely now. | bmel
04/1/2021 11:25 | certainly a NOR situation with no chart resistance ahead . NAV not moving much in recent days but such a big discount to NAV it has not affected share price progress yet . | arja
29/12/2020 12:03 | Wish I had more of these! | boozey
29/12/2020 11:26 | Sitting top of the FTSE leaderboard at the moment.......again! | bmel
29/12/2020 09:18 | i always worked off an expected discount of 10% in general so a ways to go to close the gap - dare i say it but looks like easy money to be made over the next few trading days at least.... | rachael777
29/12/2020 09:03 | A nice rise this morning - defo a new step upwards now. How many % will this see shaved off the discount? | bmel
23/12/2020 14:48 | Riskv Agree with that completely. Also note that the companies in the PSH portfolio are expected to pick up rapidly as the USA covid crisis subsides. Those businesses will have ripped hell out of their overhead costs so I would expect them to be very profitable and push the PSH NAV up further. Looking forward to a period of good returns here. | bmel
23/12/2020 14:21 | This is still cheap at 27% discount. Expect the discount to close by upto 10 to 17%, and on top of that, adding any further NAV increase from its portfolio. If you look at other hedge fund trusts with any decent performance, like a few managed by Brevan Howard Capital, they are not performing as well as PSH, but they are priced at a premium rather than a discount. Besides now PSH is a ftse 100 company. | riskvsreward
23/12/2020 13:58 | Well we are at the top of the FTSE 100 leader board at the moment....we could call that a good sign I think. | bmel
22/12/2020 10:52 | Very true arja, hopefully news in Jan regarding the SPAC will really put a rocket up it's bum. | rickyl1
22/12/2020 09:19 | you fellows have more patience than me and I am getting tired of seeing it stuck at 2400 level . Chartwise it has done this in past before a new breakout with quite big moves . | arja
21/12/2020 08:14 | Well well, so much for teh Santa rally this year. Last reported shot down over the English Channel by Frecnh infection control defence forces...... | bmel
19/12/2020 21:01 | Agreed ricky that is why i am invested here. I expect some very good returns over the next 3-6 months | bmel
19/12/2020 13:17 | Yes, massive buying though after hours for obvious reasons. Hopefully ftse100 sees the ridiculous nav discount and we can close that to a reasonable number then the SPAC value kicks in during January. | rickyl1
18/12/2020 16:45 | Well a rather meek departure from FTSE 250 - lts see what life is like in the big league. | bmel
18/12/2020 10:24 | Im of the opinion that market makers were deflating the price to get the institutional investors in before today's final day on ftse250. Should hopefully see a gradual uplift and a reduction in the nav discount from 26%. Then we have the SPAC in the first quarter to come! | rickyl1 |
