Boy, that would be nice if they were bought out, well, depending on the price offered.Could be anything though from 500 to 900 a share.

hey've changed course in recent years. they've taken the view that to increase customer stickiness they need to provide lots more profitable routes to commissions for retailers. that's taken alot of capital that would otherwise be going in very chunky special dividends. i expect more of these ancillary businesses to be acquired in the coming years. just hope they don't pay 30 x EBIT like they did for handepay (when PayPoint trades at about 10 x EBIT).

but what i am seeing is very thin market with very few players

will leave a stupid bid away from here but from what i have seen anything of note happens spread widens giving a distorted view

not worth it dividend not withstanding

Are there any recent research notes available on PAY? Can not see anything on ResearchTree since last July from Liberum?

Particularly interested if there are any plans to reduce the dividend following the APP t/o.

Cheers

appreciate group taken over at about 11.5 x EBIT. so not a terrible starting point, if the earnings are sustainable it's a rational price. it seems a business that overlaps somewhat with their existing customer base. they hope it will drive more traffic to paypoints.

interesting that the spanish holder owns 26%, and the top 7 shareholders around 75%. don't have to make many calls to see if a takeover is possible...

The Appreciate acquisition should add 50p a share, even after the dilution but price isn't even reflecting the current value of company and well covered dividend.

Hopefully above the £10 mark even if it takes over a year. Meantime there is the large dividend to collect.

Hopefully when the business integration happens and revenue rises we will easily see back over 600/650 here...

Bought in here today, was a previous holder a while back.

In oversold territory on the RSI and looking at recent results along with acquisition, we should see significant upside over the next few years. Obviously recession, inflation & higher interest rates may hinder performance short term, but definitely one to hold.

Debt will increase due to acquisition, but should start falling from 2024 onwards.

Decent management team and healthy dividend too, currently yielding 6.74%.

Well, something is going on in the background. The 100k share purchase by the head honcho doesn't mean anything until this deal goes through.......

I have no position here or in Appreciate but both are on my watchlist. My own view is that PAY have got a great deal, so perhaps there is a chance of a competitive bid for APP? At least one of the shorters is also long APP, so perhaps a pairs trade that benefits from a competitive bid but also potentially risk free if the deal goes through - i.e. PAY shares gained from the merger to offset their short? I'm just guessing and to be honest, way over my head.

Share price and chart looking terrible. As of yesterday according to the FCA short tracker 1.38% of the shares are short by two companies, Jupiter and Samson Rock.At a loss to explain what's going on. According to all the financials everything appears OK but revenue's still well down from pre pandemic (down 40%) and yet to recover, if they ever will and Net Debt is rising. The deal to buy Appreciate, appears, on the face of it to be good value but, is it really a good business fit? Any ideas anyone??
