I think, paypoint has a service, it does, but maybe its starting to become a service a bit like the Telephone box.

Who pays bills via paypoint. What else do they accept via the terminals. One can assume its not just bills? Money transfers? They must do other things to counter any decline in some areas.

Some use say FirstUtility. they ask the customer enter the readings online. They then DD the payment when due.

Smart meters rolling out extensively allowing customers to top up online cutting Paypoint out of the equation. I'd imagine that other services would go the same way. Save the utility companies millions if they can cut out the middleman.

Thanks for the inside info shazx. So are the Banks squeezing Paypoint, thus Paypoint squeeze the agents? Has it had its day and people moving on to other payment outlets?

Paypoint say transactions down due to mild winter. British Gas report consumption up 5%. Something stinks here.

thanks for the anecdotes , is there anything documented where we can verify this ?( aside from directly with agents)

Paypoint agents have had their commission slashed to the point that the banking charges on Paypoint cash now outstrips commission earned. Those who are coming to the end of their contract are not renewing. After tying agents into new contracts then slashing commission further, they have angered thousands of agents. When these agents contracts are up, there will be nowhere for the public to pay their bills. Can not see how this company will survive long term on this business model.

Well you got your 800p. Is this looking good value now? I suppose the warm weather is a one-off issue and the decline in mobile top-ups has been well documented. Collect+ is looking like it is becoming a bit of an issue though, I had high hopes for that too.

Aside from geographic expansion, it is hard to see where any growth is going to come from but we have bit of a stonking yield here now and the shares are starting to look cheap on a PE basis. I'm not betting against that chart just yet but these are looking interesting imv.
