04/7/2019 12:26 | somebody wants some stock what is going on? | ntv
30/4/2019 20:22 | Yes, results today. Just by the deadline, but always a great read. Panther well positioned at this point in the cycle I feel. | topvest
28/4/2019 13:00 | results due soon | ntv
28/2/2019 19:56 | Thanks topvest, i have put it on my watchlist. AAz has killed my portfolio performance this year as it has gone from star performer to poor performer in a matter of weeks I have had to retire early because of my vertigo and i am only in my mid fifties Doing some building work and making most of the weather at the moment so getting about is a bit of a problem like going to agm's been to a fair few over the years and sometimes I was the only other shareholder there! Do things while you can is what i say because you never know what is going to happen next | ntv
25/2/2019 20:10 | Hi NTV - I'm not a shorter unfortunately, so its just for fun really. I've been watching the Woodford debacle (WPCT, Woodford Equity Income Fund and Investee companies such as Purplebricks) for 2/3 years now and that is starting to get critical. Not making any money out of it as shorting is a risky game, but helps improve your investing game if you find losers and are proved correct. Woodford is particularly interesting as this will be headline news when the funds go down, as i think they will. Panther for me is a hold forever stock whilst Perloff is around. He's a legend. I will have to go the AGM when I retire and have a bit more time on my hands! | topvest
24/2/2019 21:24 | agreed there. difficult to short a lot of stuff out there have tried a couple like purple bricks but they closed my short out tried several others of similar credentials but the amount of stock they will let you do is minimal a couple of traders have got brokers who let them short sometimes pre market, which makes life of easy pickings still if i make a few bob i am a happy bunny but i think our portfolio is down to about 10 stocks now it has become a real traders market I have to admit my partners portfolio is outperforming mine this year! so got a bit of work to do to catch up always interested in a real dross you find just post here Foreign takeovers will hold up some parts of the market as they buy up what is left of brands etc (where they can anyway) | ntv
24/2/2019 12:47 | I'm not really investing at the moment. As in 2007, I'm waiting for the inevitable bear market before I reinvest a circa. 20-25% cash position in my portfolio. Patience is required as it gets a bit boring. Its more fun picking out the disasters waiting to happen, rather than picking winners at this point in the cycle. | topvest
23/2/2019 21:07 | Thanks topvest I didn't think I would buy much with the proceeds and thought i would hold the cash until after the so called brexit date at the very least but as usual i got tempted to use the cash raised here and the above also pay generous dividends My stop/loss on AAZ got triggered but i was outside doing some building work so never acted upon it it has since recovered some what i have since reduced my holding as usual some interesting value plays about but a lot don't match my criteria but a fair on the watch list again We have had early year gains with profits on AVCT and BBSN so a reasonable start to the year though only small positions | ntv
23/2/2019 10:44 | Well done NTV. I've not got a massive holding in Panther, but happy to keep holding. | topvest
23/2/2019 09:40 | I unloaded part of holding here into the last jump in the share price mainly because of the experience with their largest tennant. Sale of 7500 shares probably held back the price a bit Probably going to hold the rest longer term unless a huge jump in the price as these special dividends are very useful at boosting dividend income Other factors came into the equation as well as I wanted to add to positions in MANX, GRP and SPSY | ntv
22/1/2019 17:35 | large trade @ 410 shown after hours | ntv
17/1/2019 10:27 | nice dividend received today | ntv
28/12/2018 12:08 | Ordered an Airsprung mattress from BEALES on line on 1/12/18 failed to deliver with hopeless customer support Today i gave up as customer services is closed for internet sales now asked for my money back If i don't get a response re the monies going to call the bank and get them to sort it They certainly won't survive a downturn with that sort of customer service | ntv
08/12/2018 13:32 | If you look at this building, it could quite easily be split into 3 units. Looks a very good deal. Perloff is an astute deep value investor! Possibly potential to convert upper floor to residential. | topvest
05/12/2018 17:52 | The Dumfries Debenhams investment has been offered for sale twice in recent years. In May 2017, Allsop was marketing the heritable (freehold) interest at offers in excess of £4,400,000. In July 2018, Acuitus auctioneers were offering it at disclosed reserve not to exceed £2.5M. I've not seen the legal pack but the auction particulars state the tenant is Debenhams Properties Ltd. According to its accounts, DPL hold the majority of Debenhams Retail leases in the Debenhams UK portfolio. If Debenhams close this branch then DPL would still be liable for the rent etc but how long DPL could afford to pay depends upon its other commitments. I guess Panther bought it because the yield surely offers the potential for something or other. The EPC rating is E - in other words almost dire! | trcml
05/12/2018 07:36 | interesting purchases these large stores seem cheap and I guess the "alternative uses are" way to value them I get the feeling that a lot of theses old department stores will get converted into flats at some time in the future I like the special dividends that are now becoming very regular I wondered why someone was sitting in auction bidding @350 | ntv
25/10/2018 18:09 | Good news for Mr Perloff and Panther I think. I wonder if Perloff had bitten off a little more then he could chew with this? | topvest
25/10/2018 10:25 | The Times reports Beales sold in a buyout. | jeff h
15/10/2018 20:06 | Yes, you maybe correct. Department stores are not the asset of choice, that's for sure. See that SEARS has filed for bankruptcy protection in the US today. Debenhams are probably next in the UK. Think Sports Direct have made a big misjudgement trying to bring HoF back from the dead as well. It will be like pushing water uphill. | topvest
15/10/2018 06:51 | Beales been positive for years but not made a bit of difference, its got too borrowings now as the global economy slowing, Perloff is going to take a hit on his private company. | debsdowner
13/10/2018 20:24 | Yes, results weren't great. I saw those. The outlook was fairly positive though, but I'd be surprised if it ends up being a success. Department stores are on the way out. I'm struggling to see the angle on Beales as the property is very run-down and is unlikely to be re-let if Beales does close. Maybe its got redevelopment potential? | topvest
13/10/2018 19:18 | Perloff not doing well on his purchase of Beales last week results out loss of over £1 million. Lord St properties revenue falling, results out last week. Beales has bank loans of £16 million increasing all the time, Perloff not as clued up as some think, Beales not in a good place at the moment a bad Christmas and its could be the end. | debsdowner
09/10/2018 07:54 | 10k buy order in auction that is unusual for this stock | ntv
26/9/2018 07:32 | I don't understand the Movement in derivative financial liabilities could anyone explain this TIA | ntv
26/9/2018 07:06 | Well it is steady as she goes as no extra news other than an agreement to rent property in Maldon. A nice amount to help replace income from sold properties Wickford will be a standalone scheme so may be a sale soon Swindon market scheme to be reworked so guess that will a take a year or so so maybe some news this time next year Was a bit hopeful on the special dividend front for another one in 2018. Ready and awaiting the Brexit challenges that appear more than likely to be a "hard version " whatever that really means | ntv |
