We began the day pre-open with intothewild's prediction that we should "Expect new lows today as the sell off continues" but in typical style we end up over 5% up.

I suspect after yet another day of embarrassment on this forum intothewild has gone intothepub and sunk his face intothepints contemplating how he got himself intothemess he now finds his reputation in.

Intothewilderness now for you matey.

If anyone actually uses a spreadsheet to value PANR - it's time to upgrade your oil price assumptions quite a long way. Yes, all the way out to 2030 makes sense!

The new numbers will be extraordinary, I think, and substantially change the risk/reward balance. In other words, PANR is getting cheaper.

Lot of sells going through :( I think there's going to be some disappointed sellers.

Predictions for first news from Talitha? Maybe not Monday, but my guess is 50/50 between next week and early the following week.

This Crest "discussion" is hilarious:

People on this thread may not realise, but not all shares issued by a company will necessarily be also on Crest. Quite a lot may be in certificated form instead.

You will often find that shares are lent off Crest whilst the lender has security over the physical share certificate. This allows for a smooth operation of the market without needless paperwork.

The fact that 11m shares have been lent off Crest means absolutely diddly squat unless you also know the circumstances.

I disagree Proselenes. I don't care if my broker lends shares providing I get the best prices and best execution costs in a secure environment.

donkikong.

You have to pay a fee to borrow shares from CREST.

So you dont borrow them unless you intend to sell them on the market to run up your short position.

All borrowed shares ultimately have to be returned to CREST. Many brokers let the shares you own, as a private invester, be lent out to shorters.

Which is why you should always ask your broker if they allow shares to be borrowed, and if they do, then move your account to another broker who does not.

Pro_S2009 - your argument was that PANR is exempt from short reporting because it is an "overseas company" and overseas companies are excluded from short reporting.

If Pantheon is not an "overseas company" then your argument about it being excluded from short reporting fails unless you identify another legal basis for it being excluded.

Is there a possible 2nd meaning to the "CREST 11m", or does it always and only mean "short"?

Pro_S2009,

Please provide your source for your statement.

My source is Pantheon's accounts and the statement therein about Pantheon's principal activity (see page 13 - "The Group operates in the UK through its parent undertaking and in the USA through subsidiary undertakings") and note 9 to those accounts (see page 58, which lists its US subsidiaries):

There is nothing stated in Pantheon's most recent accounts about it being an "overseas company".

The entity doing the shorting must have an exclusion under the FCA guidelines if they do not have to report it.

11.4 million borrowed shares from CREST means 11.4 million sold borrowed shares.

Pro_S2009,

Please provide a source for your statement about Pantheon being an "overseas company".

I did an advance search on the UK Companies House website for "overseas company" and Pantheon Resources PLC is not registered as an "overseas company".

I also did not see any "overseas company" reference with respect to Pantheon in its fund-raising RNS.

The sharing of information re other stocks. I would very much like to thank the person who early this week pointed out a company ticket CGO , it gave me the opportunity to research it and the decision on merit to buy in the 6p range , it’s currently 8 pence. It has huge potential, the same goes for MATD where I’m also invested and continue to buy. We should share information about other stocks and opportunities .
