19/10/2021 10:02 | poohbear1, not seeing your pennant unless you're taking the lower line back to end Sept, but that crosses over the next flag pole. There's perhaps better conformity to a flag on the hourly. If it doesn't break out soon, it could go back to the lower line c 75, which would be an interesting point in view of potential support from previous price action. In the chart below, I've dotted the lower line of a pennant but left solid lines on the flag. There's certainly a lot of buying interest but this is being sold today, at least at the moment. Those other indicators on the daily (MACD etc), are still pointing this down, although buying interest may yet moderate that. I am not yet buying. | forwood
19/10/2021 08:54 | Hi Bobbiedazzler, post #18186: 1) Agree with higher NPV per barrel argument due to proximity to infrastructure. 2) No new oilfields necessary? Tell that to the Alaskan State government, the owners of TAPS, the Alaskan population and the US political leadership of both parties who support US energy independence. So I disagree with you on that count. Pikka will be developed if it's profitable to do so, IMO. 3) The "get over the line by displacing" argument? I take your point but I don't accept "by displacing currently booked reserves". There's plenty of academic and broker research which describes the noteworthy reduction in booked reserves by the supermajors over the last few years. Unless the world is going to cease using oil in the next 10 years, Theta West, Talitha and Alkaid will be needed to *replace*, not displace, those reserves. The good news is that guidance on breakeven per barrel indicates the PANR projects are in good shape on a comparative cost basis to attract the necessary capital required to move to development. Plus, there's always this fascinating overlay of the minimum volume of oil required for TAPS to continue operating, and thus to continue funding the state government's coffers year after year. | scot126
19/10/2021 08:45 | So it could, poohbear1. So it could. Thanks for the warning (I mean alert). | phsarkandalpp
19/10/2021 08:13 | From a chart perspective, there seems to be a bullish pennant forming. If it breaks through 83.5p on decent volume it could go to 100p very quickly | poohbear1
19/10/2021 00:21 | Mmmm. I think 90 per cent of the evidence base of the Pikka deal would get us to 90 per cent of a higher price than $3.10 a barrel, reflecting proximity to TAPS and the Dalton Highway. I would personally be surprised if Pikka is ever developed (see IEA doubling down on its view that new fields are not necessary). Theta West will only get over the line by displacing currently booked reserves because it requires less infrastructure and cost. And time... | bobbiedazzler
18/10/2021 22:36 | Deadhorse currently snowing ... the season is starting. Looking forward to the deep chill to the slope and get our funding sorted and let the games begin ! | sirmark
18/10/2021 21:14 | So when have had posts removed? & who removed them?? A simples question... | chris0805
18/10/2021 20:39 | Do you know that if you click on the arrow to the right of the posters name, you can select to see their posts over time. A very useful feature when deciding if one should take a poster seriously or utilise the filter button. Just saying.... ;-) | unlikely2
18/10/2021 18:42 | We see that democracy is out of the window on this forum with some of our posts being removed while certain posters get away with murder!........:-( | nigoil
18/10/2021 14:50 | Fair enough Rabito79, I thought you meant straight after the winters work and not what a third party would likely pay. | ngms27
18/10/2021 14:42 | It came from the webinar and I believe this is was what he thought could be achieved post this seasons activities. Higher values may be achievable but will likely require further appraisal. | rabito79
18/10/2021 14:42 | Hi Bobbiedazzler - Rabito79 is referring to an answer Jay gave in the August webinar. On (successful) completion of the three main operational tasks outlined in the webinar, Jay stated his opinion that the data collected would see PANR 90% of the way to reaching the threshold of empirical proof which Armstrong attained prior to selling each contingent barrel in the ground for $3.10. Thus you have Rabito79 using $2.80 for illustrative purposes. Hope that helps. | scot126
18/10/2021 14:27 | Where was the Jay guidance of $2.8 a barrel? I thought baseline was $3.10 a barrel in the Armstrong-Repsol deal and then some to allow for lower costs and higher speed due to closeness of the trans-alaska pipeline and Dalton highway. | bobbiedazzler
18/10/2021 14:07 | Ngms, I am not talking about the market and likely Jay wasn't either. My interpretation is he believes that is what a buyer would pay for it. If you consider we will have had 7 well penetrations and 8 flow tests (1 extended) carried out across our portfolio, then that's a lot of derisking. I doubt the company will stick to primary recovery numbers only post flow tests which makes the $2.8 on the 1.9 billion seem more achievable on asset sale. | rabito79
18/10/2021 13:57 | Sadly can only uptick your post once. Would love to add more...:-) | chris0805
18/10/2021 13:33 | I'm with you m! | kilgallp
18/10/2021 11:58 | Changing the tone a little, The Times newspaper this morning reports that on this day in 1867 the US bought Alaska from Russia for $7.2m. I think as Pantheon shareholders we should all be grateful they did......... | redhill9
18/10/2021 11:48 | I had you both on filter until just now but was curious to see what you were saying as you both appeared to post following my posts. One can do that by the 'view posts' command. | forwood
18/10/2021 11:46 | I added an uptick on your post rabito79. I hold a sizeable chunk of PANR & expect to do very well, I just don't see Exxon Mobil buying panr for 5% of their own m cap... Hence my earlier post GLA C | chris0805
18/10/2021 11:42 | Forwood the non truths are a little embarrassing are they not . You didn’t unfilter as you didn’t filter in the first place . Good luck to you , it’s a little sad , but good luck | winner66 |
