Absolutely Bones, a total binary bet on Alkaid.I mean, those other fields, what has Pantheon got there? A piddling 5.26bn barrels of oil in place at Talitha and a pathetic 10.9bn barrels OIP at Theta West. Yeah, if Alkaid doesn't flow they are completely done for.

Not hard to understand why shorters are looking at this though . The drill results are a binary bet . Pant doesn't have other income from elsewhere it all rides on this field . Given the chances of success on wildcat wells is about 1 in 8 and about 1 in 3 for explored wells it's not hard to see why this is very high risk/reward . Then there are a lot of other factors even if the well is a success ie flow rates,drop off , compartmentalisation etc etc oil quality,injectors etc . Not one for me as it's a blind bet with the odds less in favour of success than failure . But good luck to those who like a gamble if it comes good .

that's maybe right PhsarK but much more importantly it demonstrates a significant appetite for Panr stateside. if i were short this stock, that would bother me.

If only, swendab1. However sprightly the closing USOTC price these days, it never seems to translate into a sprightly start at the UK opening.
