25/1/2022 09:56 | Spudding Theta West video : . | pro_s2009
25/1/2022 09:53 | 1) I have assumed they will perf and acidize but unsure about the testing pre frac. 2) If permeability isn't very low and the sands are oil charged then quite simply the well should produce on test providing there is little damage from drilling. The fracs should overcome this anyway even with low reservoir drive. Hence why I have come to the conclusion of low permeability at Talitha. 3) I thought they had done that with eSeis data etc. 4) Sure I agree, but producing nothing other than getting a dribble would still be highly unusual over such a large vertical area with the three frac jobs from my experience around the World though this is my first investment in the US. Just my personal opinion. | ngms27
25/1/2022 09:44 | Another tough day for 88e shareholders. A market cap fall of around 25% in just two days. Ouch! | rideacockhorse
25/1/2022 09:38 | 1) Why assume they don't plan to perf, acidize and test before before frac? It's a common oilfield procedure. 2) Sidewall cores were taken in all zones. How can you assume to know perm is low given they have information you do not. 3) This is a significant wildcat well. Gathering reservoir information is an essential element of assessing commercial productivity. 4) I've been doing this for many years. The majority of reserves in most fields come from about 30% of the wells in the sweet spot of the reservoir. The odds of drilling that sweet spot first especially in a strat trap environment are low even given seismic advancements. | westx
25/1/2022 09:38 | End of the day Talitha is a side show for most people. You are having a 'bet" on Theta West having over a thousand feet of oil pay, with the back up that if it fails then Alkaid is still there. Talitha testing, Theta West and 2 wells on Alkaid are all covered by cash in the bank - so the downside at this stage is very little but with a lot of upside potential. The downside has been mitigated by the excellent cash raise allowing a lot of work in 2022 on three different locations. | pro_s2009
25/1/2022 09:31 | I trust the board with their experience are making the right decisions rather than listen to a nameless character on here. | rafthorney
25/1/2022 09:29 | Jonny, agree the bar has been set low. I'm hoping this is more about managing market expectations and that the result will greatly exceed the stated objective. I think they'll be looking to avoid a situation where the market is writing off the asset before any firm conclusions can be made. | johnswan193
25/1/2022 09:21 | WexTx, tell me where else other than the shale industry that perforating a 600ft vertical section, applying three fracs isn't expecting any flow results other than demonstrating moveable oil and the oil quality? So given all that they only expect a dribble? Sure it's not in the optimal location, but if they only expect a dribble why not just test without a frac initially and see if they get their objective? Three fracs over such a large area for so little expected reward seems pointless to me. But hey I'm not a yank. No wonder the shares are heading to that multibillion valuation... | ngms27
25/1/2022 09:13 | Well I thought it was an excellent presentation - my colleagues and I were also very interested in the comments about the farm out partner and the implications for future valuation. One thing I've been musing and modelling is the possible route to becoming a stand alone producer, especially with the current oil price and with our projections of the oil price going forward. I know that is not likely to happen, but the numbers that my model produces are truly staggering - I imagine this is why the team are not quite ready to trade away any equity. Very positive stuff IMHO | overeager
25/1/2022 09:01 | Hi ScotI was quite impressed with the team, the presentation, the operational plan and the transparency. What sticks in my craw is there was probably well over 100 years of experience on the webinar today and when I open the thread I read about low perm, only horizontal wells are commercial and other such nonsense. I had planned to keep silent but some of the accusations and claims are just hilarious. | westx
25/1/2022 08:58 | Better that management don’t over state their expectations and let the drill science do the talking. We’ve just got to be patient till then. | references
25/1/2022 08:48 | It's a real shame that the company didn't show the NPVs for the Alkaid and the SMD to give us an understanding of the profitability..... wait a minute. So it's had wax written all over it.It's had Federal land written all over it.It's had gas written all over it.And now it has poor reservoirs written all over it.Anything else to add to your 'I told you so list' ngms.Roger Young getting kept up all night by poor reservoirs, ngms you should contact him do he can get some sleep, | rabito79
25/1/2022 08:47 | Well, I was very impressed with the presentation. Lots of technical detail (much above my limited understanding), unrushed and very upbeat. No guarantees, of course, but very many positives. | bigwavedave
25/1/2022 08:44 | Agreed WesTx. You're a geologist by trade, correct? You've a history of measured and non-hyperbolic posts over a lengthy period of time IMHO. I invite you to either rebut in icily logical terms some of these outlandish claims. Alternatively, I'd be delighted to read your key technical takeaways from yesterday's webinar? Over to you? | scot126
25/1/2022 08:39 | Goodness it's nearly comical some of the factually incorrect assumptions on operational and reservoir matters recently. | westx
25/1/2022 08:03 | Johnny, like 100% of other people on ADVFN.....talk their own book.......everyone does. Producers will be horizontals, he knows that. Testing small parts of vertical is going to yield low rates - blinking obvious. The data they need is for the small sections of vertical to produce at rates which, when drilled horizontral, will be solid producers. Thats what testing is about. | pro_s2009
