Yes before COVID-19 currently furloughed and hope to come out of this with a business intact for the sake of my employees, I had planned to wind down a little further in September but with all this that may well be delayed but I’m chilled about that... health and happiness is the most important thing right now

Good to know you are still around. I had 2 cruises booked starting 28 April but both now cancelled. Still waiting a refund. Carnival Cruise Lines looks good if you can afford to wait!! I still think Lloyd Banking Group is a good bet despite cancelling the dividend due next month. DYOR.

Niagara Falls is the collective name for three waterfalls that straddle the border between Ontario, Canada, and the US state of New York. Horseshoe Falls, the largest of the three, is seen here. The falls have the highest flow rate of any waterfall in the world, with a vertical drop of more than 165 feet (50 meters).

Check out this drone shot of Barcelona we found on @architectanddesign. The Eixample district in Barcelona, Spain, is characterized by its strict grid pattern and apartments with communal courtyards. This thoughtful and visionary design was the work of Ildefons Cerdà. His plan features broad streets that widen at octagonal intersections to create greater visibility with increased sunlight, better ventilation, and more space for short-term parking.

Hi guys,
Thailand floods all those years ago showed us how the global supply chain was all interconnected. Two companies in the world made a widget (type of spring?) that went in hard drives. Both factories were in Thailand and were flooded. No widget, no hard drives, no STBs. Hard drive prices doubled and Pace's customers delayed orders. Pace share price crashed. Share price took a year plus to recover.
The impact of current disruptions has to be massive.
6 million new US unemployed in a single week. This was nearly 10x the previous record if you exclude the previous week. The Dow's reaction. Up 2%
Dow is down around 25% but still above where it was 3 years ago. Dow nearly 3x above the 2008 lows.
US Unemployment has in two weeks gone from historic lows to above the worst figures in 2008. In just 2 weeks.
Has owning Pace shares made me to sceptical or is the rest of the stock market delusional ?

Mount Etna is an active stratovolcano on the east coast of Sicily, Italy, between the cities of Messina and Catania. At a height of 10,912 feet (3,326 m), it is by far the largest active volcano in Italy — roughly two and a half times taller than Mount Vesuvius. Etna is one of the world’s most active volcanoes and has erupted at least 49 times since January 1955.

Alex, you too, keep safe..

Beaubleep,

Glad it all worked out well for you.
NHS staff and all healthcare professionals deserve a medal... If anything, I hope the govn reward them once this evil outbreak is over. It's good to see so many coming together to help combat Covid-19

With regards to the current drop in the stock market, like you it hasn't really affected me but I feel for those who have been adversely affected.

Health is more important.

Stay safe.

Hi all ex pace holders.
Little story about our NHS.
12 days ago I was stupid enough to give myself an inguinal hernia.
8.00am, 10 days ago I tried to get myself booked into any private clinic to get the £3,000 operation, only to be told due to virus it would be at the very least 2 months.
8.15am booked a telephone consultation with my local GP.
She called at 11.00am and told me to go to local hospital.
Here I was examined and told it wasn't serious but it might be best to get it sorted just in case things went pear shaped.
Had operation at 6.30pm that evening.
This was basically my first real experience with our NHS and I can only say how absolutely brilliant every single one of the perhaps, 50 members of staff I met during my stay.
So so grateful. I know they say gratitude is the least felt emotion but if I don't give back big time, I really deserve something bad to happen to me.
With regard the current blip on the stock market, thankfully being an ex Pace holder anything less than a 90% drop is pretty much a walk in the park.
With regard the current lockdown, for my part being forced to watch TV isn't exactly trench warfare is it.
Stay safe everyone

This is the Zhangye National Geopark in Gansu province, commonly called ‘The Rainbow Mountains of China’.

What appears to be paint daubed across the mountains is actually a spectrum of mineral deposits that were revealed by weathering and erosion of the surface.

The layers of ground beneath were exposed, complete with all of their wonderfully beautiful and colorful chemistry.

Amazing layered rock patterns are visible on the Adrar Plateau, near the town of Atar in northwestern Mauritania. Located within the Sahara Desert, the Adrar is an arid plateau known for its gorges, stony deserts and sand dunes. Cave and rock paintings show that this region was settled in the Neolithic era about 12,000 years ago — today, around 62,000 people live in the Adrar Region.

Santiago is the capital and largest city of Chile, as well as one of the largest cities in the Americas. Situated in a valley between the Andes Mountains and the Chilean Coast Range, the city is home to more than 5.2 million people. As Santiago has grown, its position in this valley — known as the Santiago Basin — has caused it to experience high levels of trapped air pollution and smog.
