09/11/2016 21:13 | 1gw I felt the same, I'd been thinking of taking some profit from Easyjet and Galliford Try a few days ago but then talked myself out of it, being 'certain' that Mrs Clinton would get in. I laid there at 3.00am this morning thinking I'd really dropped one. I was expecting a drop of anything from 5 to 10% today so the extra 2% or so today was like a 2nd chance and I leapt at it. Plus by the looks of it my ski holiday will be getting paid for very shortly. Hope everyone else had a good day. By the way I know one of Mr Trumps selling points was 'What have you got to lose' well I'm learning to sail just in case it doesn't go that well and I feel I'd rather take my chances on the seven seas. | beaubleep
09/11/2016 16:40 | Well well well. Got out from under the duvet to take a few profits, not with arris yet but uk seems to be happy enough. As far as I'm concerned today Mr Trump has paid for 2 weeks sailing and diving in Kenya followed by a weeks sailing course in Gran Canaria. I've a weeks skiing in Feb to pay for soon so keep it up Mr Trump. | beaubleep

Italy there are about thirty three thousand urban foxes in bristol. though the population remains stable, some argue for a cull, viewing them as dangerous. ecologists, however, counter that killing the foxes would be pointless as they are territorial (with a territory of about thirty hectares on average), and when you kill one another simply claims the territory. notes photogrpaher sam hobson, “using a flash with nocturnal wildlife is a contentious issue, especially out in the wild …where many animals are not used to artificial light and a flash can cause temporary blindness. but urban foxes …are used to artificial light, so a low powered, indirect camera flash is no different to the sudden reflection of a car headlight. i introduced it very slowly, observing their reactions at every step.” | freddie01

07/11/2016 19:12 | I started my transfer on the 9th September. All the UK stocks came through a while back however today I received the following after asking about the delay regarding my Arris transfer I can advise that today we agreed dates to get Arris Int in and this should settle on your account on the 10 November 2016. I looked into why this has taken so long and it looks like there was some issues getting the valuation from Selftrade also they had not received your instructions so we had to resend these. I do know that Selftrade had a few backlogs on their end due to the company going through some redundancy in the back end of September. I apologies that this took longer than normal however we have now agreed dates and we should be complete with your transfer soon. I think it's simply a case of, it is what it is. | beaubleep
07/11/2016 13:59 | STT - just bad communication and processes I think for the II to Barclays transfer. First II's reply to Barclays initial request seems to have gone astray, then Barclays seemed to sit on their hands, then II were still using an old SEDOL code (BLNX instead of RTHM) for one of the holdings which caused a problem, then II wanted a formal communication from me specifying how the exit costs were to be paid... For the Selftrade to TD transfer, which was just Arris shares, there was a bit of a delay I think because TD Direct requested Selftrade to supply the US line of stock (whereas they were holding the Crest depositary interest form as far as I can tell) but that only seems to have accounted for about 2 weeks of the process. | 1gw
07/11/2016 12:43 | I seem to remember my tfr from Barclays to HL took a couple of weeks.. but it was pre-Arris...I wonder if the additional time to tfr is because of Arris being US listed and therefore needing additional checks, eg Medallion Stamp??? Remember how long some brokers took because of it... | sikhthetech

07/11/2016 10:27 | o/t ISA transfers And coincidentally, my Arris shares transferred from Selftrade have just arrived in my TD Direct account. That transfer was initiated 15th September, so just about 7 weeks for that one. Checking with TD this morning they say that it has come across as the US line of stock (rather than the Crest line which incurs the stamp duty charge on sale), although the person I was talking to seemed a little confused so I will need to check again at sale time I think. | 1gw

05/11/2016 14:56 | o/t - ISA transfers. The transfer of my Interactive Investors ISA to Barclays, commenced on 2nd September, appears to have completed on Friday, with all holdings now in the Barclays account and cash in transit. I make that 9 weeks for what should have been a very straightforward transfer (4 holdings, all quoted on the UK markets). | 1gw |
