26/10/2016 21:27 | Looks to me like a bit of a mixed bag. 3Q revenues in line with guidance, 3Q adjusted net income at the top end of guidance, 3Q GAAP net income below guidance. 3Q adjusted net income only just above median expectation (77c vs 76c) 4Q eps guidance below expectations (68c-72c adj NI vs 72c median expectation). Full year revenue guidance towards top end of original guidance Full year adj eps guidance above original guidance ($2.75-$2.79 vs original $2.45-$2.60). So it appears to me they are aiming to beat their original full-year guidance but maybe not quite match analyst expectations. All based on very quick review so errors are possible. | 1gw

26/10/2016 12:08 | Comcast 3Q results. Looks like Comcast is continuing to head in the right direction as far as Arris is concerned: "Cable delivered solid operating cash flow growth coupled with great customer metrics, and has now added 170,000 video subscribers over the past twelve months." "Video Customers Increased by 32,000, the Best Third Quarter Result in 10 Years; Nearly 45% of Residential Video Customers Now Have X1 High-Speed Internet Customers Increased by 330,000, the Best Third Quarter Result in 7 Years" [edit] plus: "Cable Communications' capital expenditures increased 10.4% to $2.0 billion in the third quarter of 2016, reflecting a higher level of investment in scalable infrastructure to increase network capacity, increased investment in line extensions and continued spending on customer premise equipment related to the deployment of the X1 platform and wireless gateways. 25/10/2016 15:28 | Thanks 1gw - I was pretty close then with my calculation of $30.59. It's all down to the exchange rate at time of calculation!!! If it reaches $31.00 then we are pretty sure to have hit it so looking forward to tomorrow!! | alexmcdonald
25/10/2016 15:22 | Alex - at £1=$1.2087 and Arris = $30.02 I reckon we're at £4.94-equivale At the same xrate I reckon we need Arris at about $30.53 for £5. | 1gw

25/10/2016 12:26 | Off topic Just received the following from TD Waterhouse We have been in contact with your current broker and agreed a settlement date with your current broker for your UK Crest holding - 1st November 2016 International securities will normally be available 1 working day following settlement. I started the transfer process on the 9th September, so that will be just about 7 weeks. I have been able to trade freely so far, touch wood and have been impressed with the entire process. | beaubleep
25/10/2016 11:07 | Bashor - I'm also looking forward to tomorrow's results. Not necessarily a good thing for other investors since my recent track record on results anticipation is poor. I was very positive on the full-year results (which were disappointing) and as a result of getting that wrong I was on the fence for the 1Q and 2Q results (which were good). But my confidence has bounced back now and I'm hoping they will effectively be able to up their guidance for the full year when they give 4Q guidance. Things seem to be slotting into place nicely for 2017 and I'm hoping they talk at least qualitatively about this in a positive way in the outlook section of the presentation. I think they may still be struggling in Latin America (esp Brazil) because of exchange rate and economy concerns and dollar strength more generally is likely to be a bit of a headwind. But the Comcast and Charter warrant deals will hopefully be providing the right incentives on the revenue side for the US business and give them confidence about revenue deliverability going forward. I like the recent trend towards integrating Netflix into pay TV companies' set top boxes / guides and the lightreading piece on now being the time to upgrade cable networks was encouraging. I'm still thinking about taking a bit of profit today as we're so close to the £5-equivalent level, but I may hold my nerve... | 1gw
