Regarding Miss LammPossibly the white & chase website reflects the current state. After all you can't whitewash cases from your CV, as that would be mid-leading. In the past clearly she had acted as Lead Counsel on the case.

Its my view that this should turn out to be the biggest award in the last 3 decades. The level of wrong doing by the Ubeks beggars belief. Even if they had gotten away with it did they think that they would ever see another £1 invested by a western country there?
The fact that they played ball with the telecoms earlier this year, the arrival of Lamm (late) on the scene a possible last throw of the dice.
Results are now due, don't be out of what could turn out to be the talking point of 2015

Honestly...
You're a load of seriously deluded people..
There are several Counsel representing Uzbekistan - and this has been the case for a while.

There's some deluded ones - and unbridled unashamed rampers - on here..

But whatever you are - or think you are - it only takes two button presses to find that Lamm still cites herself as Lead Counsel in the Uzbekistan vs Oxus case on her current CV.

Someone may have taken over the reigns at this late stage after all the humping work has been done.

So what.

What, so another partner would take it as a loss? Not sure he would want it on his CV either!Decision late Sept I reckon.

indeed she was the lead counsel

Lead counsel to the Government of Uzbekistan in Oxus Gold plc v. Uzbekistan(UNCITRAL Arbitration Paris) alleging violations of the UK-Uzbekistan Bilateral Investment Treaty arising out of an alleged expropriation of gold mining concession; case pending.

so why take a back seat? i go with the view as she wants to have her CV immaculate - if the uzbeks won, this would have been another case she could boast about.

i would also add if the Uz side have won - i very much doubt that a lady like carolyn would let someone else take the credit and glory.

Looking at Ms Lamn winning cases, they were all below $100m. I am sure if she had thought Uzbeck had any chance when the award potentially is more than $1000m, she would not handed over to somebody else. I still believe merit was decided last Feb with share price spiking. Now we are waiting for quantum.

I doubt that Ms Lamm would hand the case over to someone else if it was going to be another notch on her belt, she's very competitive.

If Lamm had passed the case on she would keep it prominent if its a winner imo.

When you produce your own CV and you have moved projects, passing your role on to another person, do you remove that project from your CV ??

Lam may just have handed the case to another partner in capacity grounds (she had too much work in). I wouldn't get too excited about that.Just wish this decision would come - ridiculous.

It is interesting that Gharavi leads his list with the Oxus case. This does not appear to be alphabetical it could be related to duration of case or size of claim. When I get in front of my laptop I will take a look a couple of the others. Most people would lead with their best case given a chance.

GB442 - Whereas :

hxxp://www.derainsgharavi.com/lawyers/hamid-gharavi/

Under the second heading "EXPERIENCE AS COUNSEL" Hamid Gharavi is not at all shy about mentioning his input involving our own case - it may simply be in reverse date order, but it looks good as it's the first of quite a long list.

The last thing they would do is change the entire team if they were about to win. A change of personnel and hope for damage limitation is my thoughts at this stage for white & case and the Uzbeks!

GB442 .. amazing spot .. speaks volumes that she lost for the Uzbeks .. and you are right she would not omit the OXS case for no reason especially when it was so prominent recently.. that means that all we now have to do is see just how big the quantum is in that RNS!

I have deliberately stopped looking at my Oxus investment apart from checking RNS's, but I didn't realise I was this out of touch.

It looks like CL's fellow partner Francis A. Vasquez Jr. has taken over from her.

I notice White & Case have revamped their website and on Carolyn Lamm's experience section, she is no longer mentioned as being involved in the Oxus Vs Uzbekistan case. Am I right in saying she was down as lead counsel not so long ago? This could be a coincidence but she doesn't strike me as a woman that likes to have blemishes on her 'immaculate' record.

Apologies if this has been mentioned already, I haven't been on this bb for a longtime.
