27/7/2005 23:44 | this is a far more conservative company than emblaze.. bottom line is bidding for 20 something contracts... In trials with a few including a big tier one and a small one in Europe... And potential for upgrades to existing clients... - CONCLUSION - on a purely probabilistic basis should get some good news from some of these soon. Appears simply improbable for this not to be the case.. I.e. if the probability of good news in each case is only 10% then the probabiliy of all having working out bad in next six months is 90%... We have about 5 existing clients... 20 bidding on and then 2 trials... in total 27.. so 0.90 to the power of 27 gives 6% chance of no news from any of these in the next few six months... if we assigned a more realistic probability of no news of 85% to each then there would be a 1.2% chance of not being successful with one of these 27 factors in the next six months... So I say bring it on... some news will be forthcoming... The Slapster | slapdash
27/7/2005 22:31 | Slapdash thanks agree with that. The reason why I don't think anything big will happen is the line "expects to meet revenue forecasts for 2005 as a whole", but Emblaze (BLZ) seems to issue much more positive outlook. | cyberdyme
27/7/2005 14:43 | cyberdyme - talking about next year's revenues in US and Latin america for next year.. Doesn't affect prospective bidding on contracts here.... So could still get news here soon (Europe/Asia).. Overall a positive as group says will be looking to get deals in US / Asia when didn't think it would get many there before... Slap | slapdash
27/7/2005 14:08 | From the above statement it sounds like maybe it would be better to come back into orca some time next year. | cyberdyme
27/7/2005 14:00 | good. LONDON (AFX) - Orca Interactive Ltd, which develops applications for Internet Protocol TV (IPTV), said trading was in line with its expectations in the first half. It also said last year's strong growth in its product pipeline has continued and it therefore expects to meet revenue forecasts for 2005 as a whole. Orca said there has been an increase in interest from operators in the North and South American markets and the company has decided to commit extra resources to its partnership with Lucent to take advantage of "this sizeable market prospect". The first customer deals are expected to occur next year. newsdesk@afxnews.com ak/ | ericthecat

26/7/2005 10:50 | Seems to be a general sell off in this area. ADA, ANT, ORCA all down with very similar charts. Something is spooking the sector - I suspect this is not ORCA specific. Watching carefully - maybe a good entry price high 80's. | britishbear
25/7/2005 10:46 | AGM Wednesday.... Should be statement.... business looks like it is coming together.... but some license orders would be nice.... Slap | slapdash

Following the deal, which was announced in October, nCUBE will be integrated into C-COR's software business unit C-COR Solutions. Michael Pohl, previously President and CEO of nCUBE, will become president of the expanded unit. 20/6/2005 16:01 | Thanks VT, more good news, ORCA is shaping up very well indeed. They are the number 1 open source platform and with Microsoft having continued scale up problems ORCA is set to win some BIG contracts. Two more shows this week for ORCA, would not be suprised to see some buying as one is in London ;-) | ericthecat |
