14/7/2003 14:00 | Pictureframe/JW news from banks is due by 31 July when current arrangements expire. "Banking arrangements The current banking arrangements are in place until 31 July 2003, as reported in the Annual Report and Accounts for the year ended 31 March 2002. The bank indebtedness is therefore expressed as current at the balance sheet date in accordance with the Companies Act 1985 (Schedule 4 Part VII para 85). Following the recent appointments of Michael Holmes and John Jukes, the board intend to effect a longer term arrangement with the banks which will be put in place prior to 31 July 2003." So IMHO there should be an announcement within the next two weeks? | camiladasi

11/7/2003 08:12 | should we have heard about banking by now ? I am really tempted to stick a large wedge on this | pictureframe
05/7/2003 22:40 | DragonHorse, In the interim accounts 28/11/2002 the net cash inflow from operating activities is shown as £4.64 million ie it seems plausible to assume it should be around £9 million for the full year. This looks more than enough to cover the interest on around £60 million of debt. But perhaps I am missing something...I have some of these shares but am getting uncomfortable about the lack of news. May be safer to sell and then buy if they manage to renegotiate the debt. I haven't decided yet. If they were going to be placed into administration I would have thought it would have happened already. Actually their debt problem is not new, they have had huge debts since they took over a competitor in 1999. That didn't seem to bother people when the shares were at 75p! | richardbonny
03/7/2003 08:27 | Does anyone know if the company is generating enough cash from operations to even cover the interest on it's debt? Accounts I looked at last year suggested not. Has that problem improved since then? | dragonhorse

27/6/2003 15:08 | Looking a bit lonely there mate....too many tiddlers marked up by MMs only to get walked down below their staring point these days. 21/6/2003 16:36 | With a prospective p/e of under 1 And the backing from the banks this share could easily quadruple in value The banks decide in July so get in quick . Why pay 10p a share when you can buy them for 2.6p next week. PS they may go bust dont put too much on it ! PPS this is an orbis ramping thread no de-rampers please ! | slapmewithakipper
18/6/2003 16:51 | rated a buy by analysts 'Thewrongprice' check what they've said :- Orbis is not the type of stock that we would normally recommend. Orbis has a market capitalisation of £3.5m but bank debts of £57m which are due in July this year. On the face of it the stock appears to be close to bankruptcy. So why do we like Orbis. First of all the directors believe that the banks will extend the banking facilities in July . The directors were brought in with the banks approval something they would not have done without prior understanding with the banks that the credit would be extended. The directors bought shares at 1.75-2p after working through the restructuring- a large vote of confidence. Orbis is a service company with real assets of only £12m but their is strong demand for security work and they are a market leader. Orbis turns over £45m per annum with continuing operations making over £5m. Also cashflow is strong with £9m expected this year. THe banks have an easy choice. Either liquidate and get around £12m or keep the company running and get paid £55m plus interest paid back over 6-10 years from the strong cashflow. Valuing the company on 8X cashflow would lead to a valuation of 8.5p and every multiple of cash flow would add 5p to the valuation. This next piece of news on the bank facilities will drive the price down to zero or upwards towards 10p. High risk , high reward. | sudash
