Just a question about this deal:
Does this impinge on Cereal Ingredients' area at all?

This deal is an example of the board knowing full well what they have is of tremendous value and want to move quickly. Little Opti telling a $100bn corporation you've got 6 months to come to a deal and in that time you pay us a 6 figure sum for exclusive discussions. This tells us Opti have some serious demand for this product and have other options on the table.Today's RNS'This agreement reflects the materialisation of interest from one of these companies in scaling up, manufacturing and distributing SweetBiotix(R) from one of its development programmes.'31st May RNS 'This agreement reflects interest from one of these companies in exploring the use of SweetBiotix(R) in its branded dairy products.'Deal for manufacturing, deal for dairy products. We have Optis model of partnering with manufacturers and distributors to gain revenue from every part of the value chain beginning in the sugar division. Six figure sum just for discussions? How much do you think this company values potential revenues? The current value based on potential for this company on its low cost model with its growing Skinbio asset and its 3 core platforms is starting to look very outdated.LPLDL is rolling out with revenues from manufacturer (Sacco) formulation (Nutrilinea) Distributors (HLH, Pharmabiota, Fine Foods, Galenicum, Alfa Sigma etc etc). Slimbiome too. They are now beginning the commercialisation process in the sweetbiotix division in a similar rational way. It's looking very exciting on multiple fronts.

Is there a possible problem with tending to release RNSs on Tuesday's? If the timing of them (ie same day each week) becomes predictable, does this play into traders' hands?

Obviously, I have no problem with OPTI releasing good news.

Wait for the after hours trades.. MM's showing sells first to attract more sellers. Same old tricks but they will have to let it run up at some point

From Wiki:Cargill, Incorporated is an American privately held[2][3] global corporation based in Minnetonka, Minnesota, and incorporated in Wilmington, Delaware.[4] Founded in 1865, it is the largest privately held corporation in the United States in terms of revenue.[5] If it were a public company, it would rank, as of 2015, number 15 on the Fortune 500, behind McKesson and ahead of AT&T.[6]

Need for Development of Food Products with Comparatively Less Sugar Content to Decrease Production Sales of Artificial Sweeteners also included in the update. I couldn't incorporate the hyperlink because of some protocol error, so you'll need to copy the link into the browser yourself.

Isn't there an old phrase Judijudi
that everyone has their price?
But hey, we're probably getting way ahead of ourselves.
Whatever is happening, it all looks very exciting, even though I'm still underwater in my actual shares as well as the spreadbets.
But that could all change on a sixpence (oh dear, showing my age now).

I doubt very much that Mr OH will be wanting to sell Sweetbiotix so early in the development/commercialisation process
I know I wouldn't

I wonder if the 6 months exclusivity period is not necessarily to negotiate a licensing agreement but to negotiate the acquisition of Sweetbiotix as a whole as a spin off. If the global MN wants exclusive, global rights to sweetbiotix they would be be interested to the IP as well. Clearly this would be at a huge price but with a Turnover in excess 100bn they can clearly afford it. Possibly this is the "opportunity " that the recent fundraise was for; the costs of preparing Sweetbiotix for acquisition would be significant

Aspex

That's what I read it as.

These guys want to scale up manufacture to sell worldwide.

Reads as if terms are agreed so might get confirmation before 6 months.

Looking at the wording of the agreement it may be possible that Opti have a potential manufacturer to distribute to others who wish to use the product.
