11/8/2018 14:42 | Yes and I think the bod lead in place is just the man to do this imho! | dunderheed
11/8/2018 13:56 | Cooper was trained as a bean counter , they do not usually make good CEO's , and clearly he was not very good at managing the cash , what was it £3 billion plus wasted on ego projects , and to spend £80 million on share buy backs showed him to lack any judgement , could not do a deal with Schlumberger and it went on and on . The remaining board have an opportunity to show what they are made of , will know soon enough. | jotoha2
11/8/2018 13:47 | Absolutely not - but doesn't mean he isn't bright and just not in the right position, imho? | dunderheed
11/8/2018 13:05 | DunderheadLooking at his managerial track record, would you employ Cooper to run your company ? | badger60
11/8/2018 09:19 | Im not so sure badgy, 4357, regardless of people not liking Cooper, he is undeniably a bright chap? | dunderheed
11/8/2018 03:29 | Santos are eager to complete the deal in order to trouser $205mio .......where there's mugs there's brass ..etc.Could it be that Standard Life are just continuing the share buy back that Cooper originally started?(wink wink!). | badger60
10/8/2018 23:14 | Were you that one person fangorn'2'? | dunderheed
10/8/2018 19:52 | This board sucks without NigelPm. | fangorn2
10/8/2018 19:47 | 4350, j2, yes didn't you see the free bb riots of people begging him to come back and keep on posting his useful well mannered and thought through analysis*? * I believe one person commented. | dunderheed
10/8/2018 19:22 | Just wait for santos to complete, we will see a recovery then. Just hope we can get something for fortuna, which is now discounted in its entirety.... | general george
10/8/2018 18:41 | .....a vicious rumour fabricated to make Standard Life investment managers look intelligent...... | badger60
10/8/2018 17:58 | Badger , some say Cooper is going to make a bid for OPHER with money from Goldman , I think its beer talk , but one never knows . | jotoha2
10/8/2018 17:53 | Sorry Dunder , I did miss that one , explains a lot , thanks . | jotoha2
10/8/2018 14:41 | Hopefully there aren't any poor sods who have decided to cut their huge losses on their Ophir shareholding........ | badger60
10/8/2018 14:22 | It looks like Mr. Standard Life will need to buy more shares to stop this going sub 40pps. To the best of my knowledge, there is absolutely no truth to the ugly rumour that Ophir are re- employing Mr. Cooper as the new CEO.(wink wink!!). | badger60
10/8/2018 09:55 | j2, don't be ridiculous - it is this announcement I was talking about of course!!! …"nigelpm 19 Jul '18 - 08:05 - 4254 of 4346 0 0 1 Nope - I'm off - and you are mostly responsible - hope you are happy with your work."... Did you miss it? | dunderheed
10/8/2018 09:47 | Dunder , is it the 3/8 rns , well that did not inspire me one bit , they have destroyed Salamander assets and long term holders of that stock , clearly they are trying to continue with the gravy train , makes you wonder about these guys , where are the skills , have they no ability at all. | jotoha2
10/8/2018 08:47 | j2 you didn't see their announcement? | dunderheed
10/8/2018 08:31 | Does make you wonder why Standard life came in so late with this constant share price decline, now where is our resident guru nigel , hiding behind the closet maybe. | jotoha2
10/8/2018 05:19 | They've never stopped - neither have Golar .And Schlumbergers recent exit rather helps things IMV. The one company that truly stands out as a potential winner if trade tensions increase is Golar LNG (GLNG). Golar is known for their floating natural gas liquefaction platforms, the first of which was the Golar Hilli, which recently started full service off the coast of Cameroon. Why is GLNG a winner? 3 of their 4 biggest projects are located in Africa, two of which require a FID and major financing packages, likely at least partially backed by China. Golar has no US financial ties and only one of their projects, a more fledgling proposal called Delfin FLNG, is located in US territory. | ohisay
09/8/2018 15:53 | One can only hope that the guys at OPHR are making every effort to go after Chinese funding in light of the imposition of tariffs on US LNG. | romeike |
