@HPCG,

Nothing safe in Africa imo.

Property ownership rights not protected in many places. And corruption is rampant.

Just look at what is going on in Sarf Africa now.

If new management are incapable of working the assets they already have , then the whole lot should be put up for sale , I think even in a fire sale they will achieve around 80p , major holders will be happy with that .

Yep, nothing safe in Tanzania - way bigger companies powerless.

Edit - nothing paid for and producing, people are welcome to develop all they like!

General George - 45% of the 25k is gas so your revenue numbers are far far too high.

And Tanzania is almost worthless sad to say while the Mugabe clone is in power.

OPHR: Now that 40p is gone 42.25p will be the next target. Break this? 50p next...

Once Santos completes, 25k boepd makes revenue of $550m - $650m.
I dont now about the Santos opex, but the existing is $14pb.

If we call it $20, that $182.5m

You can see how stupidly cheap this is.
Name another company with this mismatch......

We havent even counted, tanzania, fortuna, mexico....

last held these 13-June and sold for 51 something pence at breakeven. I was happy to buy at anything under 41p that was my buy target. chart looks horrible but share price looks to be at the bottom of the bearish channel so there is potential for a strong rise from this level.

A lot of noise , and some positive words about substantial benefits for shareholder value , we shall see soon enough.

It is both formal and positive. Will be good to enter an era where sentiment is based on the performance of Ophir as a whole. Added at just over 41p - you did extremely well to grab 40.4p I missed that despite keeping an eye on it all day :(

Interesting that we were seeing definite movements in the share price today AHEAD of the RNS released this afternoon.

Someone seems desperate to get this under 40p - problem is people keep buying! Ophir is a bargain at this price Fortuna or no Fortuna.

Rev last year $180m odd
With 11,800 boepd.

Oil/gas prices were lower.

25kboepd, maybe looking at $450m

Then chuck in the $1b assets.
Mexico drill etc etc.

Thats a hell of alot for tge current mkt cap.....

Yep Fortuna valued at less than zip.

25k boepd is not to be sniffed at, will be generating a significant amount of cash.

SP taken a real kicking, SL will be doing very nicely after buying down here.

ohisay - I didn't think it was overvalued when I bought in! The oil price does not look healthy with the last two days confirming a downside trend rather than a continuation of an uptrend. Difficult to see oil producers bucking that. Right now I'd rather have the cash in my pocket ready for another day. Took a 30% hit when I thought I'd bought at the bottom. 30% is readily recoverable, just needing a 42% gain. Greater losses get harder and harder.

FWIW I think Fortuna write off is discounted as these prices. I wasn't expecting the Santos deal, and I was anticipating Ophir putting itself on the block. I should really have sold as soon as my thesis was negated.
