Don't be silly , the company has unstated assets worth at least £2.3 billion , we just need a deal maker to monitise that value.

Fortuna aside, is this worth a punt? Malcy boy seems to think so. Can somebody give a synopsis of investment case?

Further in the statement, Golar said that efforts to find the optimum capital structure that maximizes value for all Fortuna project stakeholders, including the government of Equatorial Guinea, continue.

The company added: “Golar does not see extensive issuance of new equity at current share price levels as an attractive financing solution. Use of alternative yards that are able to provide financing and the potential introduction of a new industrial partner are, however, being considered.”

I think you can forget about Keppel Singapore - entirely possible its now going to a Chinese yard (which was the Chinese Banks* preference all along) but it needs to happen quickly .And at least we have proof of concept now for Golars design.

*(ICBC for example was advised by the chinese government that it should only lend to projects where major infrastructure would be built in China.)

Dumping Fortuna may not be a bad thing after all, will save about £40 million this current starters , sell Tanzania and then concentrate on Mexico hopefully with joint venture , PMO will be fav , as they have hit jackpot already with Zamos .

New CEO will have the backing of major holders if he comes up with solid plans , no more dreaming please OPHR.

Does anyone here as a spear $1.2 billion by any chance? Come on guys, I am not fussy, lol. Even Russian money would do. Just transfer it to Panama and it all be fine.
Promise!

If it's Shell or Exxon then it's bingo , but do these majors really need Ophr that much , there has been no discussions with them from day one , so we can only put that down to the hapless Cooper who really thought he was a top negotiator ..Not !

Selling the company is probably the best option here , but will the BOD wish for that , come on you major holders , force the issue , and lets get this cleaned up.

Well, we know Shell were back negotiating for the LPG. Who knows, we could be lucky. A fall back is of course China.

Its been evident to me for a while (and especially if you read the background on this on Upstreamonline) that this has turned into a "Chinese project" over the past year.

Every time I looked at the stakeholders Schlumberger stuck out like a big sore thumb especially as they'd exited before.I view their exit as a big big plus.
I think its really unlikely Fortuna wont be developed but with the Chinese as partners /bankers its not going to be the best valuation for OPHRS stake you were thinking but still beyond the current price .
Happy to hold and top up at closer to 50p if I get a chance.

Golar,31 mins ago; financing was increasingly unlikely in the short-term and may need additional equity partners.

Having been an EO. Holder a long time ago, my feeling is we will be packaged up and bought up by someone?

When it hits 50p will average down again for another 200k , by that time the new man will be in the seat and await the small bounce out of oblivion.

Schlumberger walking out (again) could be as bad as it seems, an indictment on a project going nowhere. Or it could be a step toward moving the project forward, removing barriers to a financing deal - perhaps a Chinese operator will be brought in instead now.

The RNS hints that more positive news might follow. Hopefully there is some substance to this and they can provide a better update soon.
