Just bought the 200k I believe this will return to 20+ based on results Be interesting to understand how much coal they have hedged. I expect coal to come down ... The shipping has a major impact on the price ..

No-one has answered Elsa's question
Coal price has risen 2.5x since May!

what impact on costs will that be?
how will that impact profits and debt repayments?

It's a new thing this year jailbird, whenever there is movement on the bid or offer you get these tiny little trades.

They mean absolutely nothing.

10.85-11.345p online

Shaking the hell out of this on tiny volumes

Guess the mm's want to try and get that 250k back on the cheap.

No drop in online offer since the open hence the shake but bid down twice now

Just seen this on LSEInteresting article on BBC news website published in March this year - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-51852637In OPG's 2020 final results they state that in calculating depreciation of assets they use a lifespan of 40 years for power stations. So if you believe the article, Chennai has only 10 year economic lifespan remaining.

Agreed Dave, though personally am still waiting for FY21 full results to drop. It does annoy me why OPG cannot get the FY end results out on time. They should have been released 1st Aug... They were slack on this before covid.

Results next month.

They will obviously be worse than normal because of covid but they will still make good profits and lower debt next to their low market cap.

And second half and 2022 will be a strong recovery.

Those who are brave will take advantage of the cheap price 11.824p atm

Some good news all round, covid cases in India have dropped from a high of over 360,000 cases per day in May 2021 to just over 35,600 as of 17th September 2021. Indeed the number of cases has been around 45,000 per day and slowly dropping since July.

This stock has always been a drift then spike on news like results.

When the next results come out, even if lower profit which is forecast because of covid, debt will smashed again and price will shoot up

But nobody wants to buy stocks like this until they have momentum

Yes because it’s poorly run and it’s coal. The only reason to own it is cash and then you risk the Gupta monster snaffling it via acquisition. With him running it any price is too high!

Depreciation on plant is probably 20 years or so. Plant life for coal is virtually indefinite and is defined by economics. So long as it’s maintained, it’ll run.
