Just for your information the presentation from Tuesday should be on the website today

I emailed Investor relations and have to say how efficient they were, within 20 minutes I had a reply confirming this

What a company...note to self, must buy more!

Just for info, IG have moved to closing only on ORPH. This was the case for a couple of weeks but recently relaxed and I topped up. Closed now.

Thank you all for the helpful replies.
Must admit, that in 20yrs or more of using Spreadbets, I've never been in this fortunate position.
Having been involved with 4D Pharma & going on that thread, this is like a breath of fresh air compared with all the nasty comments when anyone dares to ask a civil question!

Does this help with the divi in specie with a SB company debate? I searched for this on IG as I do have open positions with them ...

What happens to my shares position if the company actions a bonus issue or stock dividend?
If you have an open position on a company that offers a bonus issue or stock dividend, then we’ll open a new separate position on your account at the level of zero, using the terms of the offer to calculate its new size. Your original position will be unaffected.

You would think he would monetise all non core assets first then be very open to a sale of ORPH to SGS

Indeed mate. CF will sell but the price has to be right. As he says if he cashes out what will he do with his dosh to make a better return, if he can keep doubling the share price My target is a £1.00 and will look again at that point.

Particularly like this bit from the article

“At the moment we have every capability to become a billion-dollar company.”

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I make that a 5/6 bagger from here.

Pierre - I agree it's not straightforward.

Hi all,

.."“That would be my fourth successful IPO, a record for any person in Ireland.”.."

Can't argue with success !

Does anyone know how CF is viewed by the Irish business community ? The Aussies have their 'tall poppy syndrome', I'm curious whether there's anything similar there.

TIA and ATB

A couple of things he didn't say

All company's should always be for sale.

We don't want the share price running away.

"appears to have caught lightning in a bottle"

Nice turn of phrase. Haven't heard that one before.

(Hope they don't start describing CF as "flashy") :-)

1g, I believe the in specie situation is a bit more of a problem than you describe. In general terms, say the SB company has 1m short in X, and 1.5m long in X, it will offset its risk with a shareholdings of 0.5m. Come the in specie, and it will hold .5m in X and .5m in newcompY (assuming one for one). What to do and how to Divi (no pun) that out between the shorts and long sbers isn't straightforward. One thing is certain, the SB company won't lose out, in fact they'd want to make a decent turn for their efforts. I'd certainly read the small print is the SB agreement, they could conceivably do some things not in pis favour over an in specie. Imv.

An in specie dividend is not a "special" cash dividend though, it's a share in a new company, isn't it? The logical thing would be for the spread betting company to value it at the float price and turn it into cash, but it wouldn't necessarily be straight forward (is there a market at the theoretical float price? how do they deal with the exchange rate if it is a Nasdaq company?) so if it were me I would want to check with my spreadbet provider in advance.

Another way I suppose would be to look at the drop in price of Orph on the day it trades "ex-dividend" i.e. without entitlement to the share in the new company and say that was the value of the dividend - but the market could move independently overnight when that happens if there is other news about.

Interesting to see what they do with an in specie Divi. I'd get that checked out.

Spread betting does account for dividends in both future and rolling contracts. Holders of long spread betting positions benefit from the equivalent of dividend credits via an adjustment in the quoted price of the spread bet on close of business the day before the stock ex-dividend date.
