07/11/2020 10:30 | Nobby, you're in this business - what do you think of the relative use of the fitbit data as measured by a fitbit together with a later survey compared to the data as measured in a challenge study? | pierre oreilly
07/11/2020 10:22 | Fitbit's data and orph's data are chalk and cheese imv. Fitbit's just temperature data as measured by fitbit (so very low accuracy) and then a survey of patients who contracted covid to describe how they felt in the days and weeks before they caught it (so probably at least a couple of weeks after the event at least). A chocolate teapot springs to mind. A gimmick if you ask me (but will sell more fitbits). Hvivo's data comprises professionally measured blood, temperature, heart rate, breathing rate and all other necessary parameters taken every few hours in a highly controlled scientific environment by research scientists in the days before and after a definite covid infection before and after symptoms exist. They can make 'fingerprints' of how the body parameters vary in the hours and days after infection and all the watch has to do is match the measured realtime parameters with those fingerprints to predict a disease. | pierre oreilly

07/11/2020 09:55 | Don’t think Fitbit would be a bidder as they have their own database it just ups the heat on the others. I am thinking they knew of the Fitbit database and that is why they approached ORPH as Fitbit have been compiling it for a while so they need to get a jump start. | pogue
07/11/2020 09:53 | Fitbit now a potential bidder? | eeza
07/11/2020 09:52 | It's annoying, ADV don't allow direct links to competitors sites, here's a youtube direct link instead. - | owenski
07/11/2020 09:22 | Nobby That’s shocking accuracy though 50% I could do that with a coin. Does sound like they have a database of people with CV 19 giving them data though. I would have though this increases the value of ORPH database as others will need to get their offering out fast to compete on first mover advantage. I would expect the ORPH database to be more accurate if not as big. Edit Thinking about it more it would make the sale of the database more likely than the rental if another database exists. | pogue
07/11/2020 08:57 | Exact opposite, supply and demand,Mink coats will increase in value. Hopefully the farms don't come back. | john henry
07/11/2020 08:44 | WRT an algorithm to detect Covid 19, it seems Fitbit are already well on the way.... | nobbygnome

07/11/2020 08:06 | Can someone explain please the warp speed initiative. Is this something new and potentially significant for OO ? | talkman2
07/11/2020 07:30 | Just to add a little more information apologies if you already know, but thought it would be helpful for those that don't Short interview here [...] New for me CF mentions the Warp Speed Initiative, didn't know about that so posted another link below More on the Warp Speed Initiative here hxxps://www.hhs.gov/ No advice intended, just more information. Good luck Orphans :-) | stevesham
06/11/2020 22:58 | Yeh Remdesivir having the FDA approval it now does will definitely help the argument to push ahead in my opinion. | sh0wmethemoney
06/11/2020 22:43 | There's no ethical issue in the UK afaiia (there are in many other countries) - that was formally cleared months ago iirc. It's the mhra who have to rubber stamp it - and they are just waiting for the model to be completed (i.e. that the covid derivative the volunteers will be infected with is safeish and effective at the dose they use, along with all the design of the study, including the rescue remedy (Remdesivir, just got approval in the states i think) etc etc. It's really hvivo's basic business, designing the model and then doing many challenge studies based on it. | pierre oreilly
06/11/2020 22:29 | Lhoskins, Hilarious 😩😡 | judijudi
06/11/2020 22:27 | Cheers Pierre, that would make sense about the tests and as Showmethemoney says, it will probably be on the agenda at their meeting on 15th Dec so hopefully we’ll get a Santa Rally? | warranty
06/11/2020 20:57 | With 15 million being destroyed there will be some cheap Mink coats up for grabs. Would make a nice Christmas present for the Mrs. | lhoskins
06/11/2020 20:51 | Was a feature regarding this subject last night on one of the news channels. There has been a big cull of Mink in Spain due to this. The virus can be transmitted from Mink to humans and vice versa. | lhoskins
06/11/2020 20:33 | Ethics committee meeting on the 14th of December look at the attached, looking around to see if there is an agenda to be discussed, if they hope to start Challange studies in Jan would need to be discussed in this meeting. hxxps://www.bma.org. | sh0wmethemoney
06/11/2020 20:15 | Not sure if anything on this has mutation has been posted here. Apologies if it has. | sh0wmethemoney
06/11/2020 19:50 | Just downloaded the trades from today, a quick summary shows 396K traded at 27p, I know there have been some Henry blocks sat there on L2 for the last few days, mainly “BERG” and “CHAP” market maker codes. Hopefully we are starting to chip away at these blocks and we can then look to move on to higher levels hopefully. | sh0wmethemoney
06/11/2020 19:10 | Warranty, the infective agent is being developed and tested, and obviously the challenge studies won't get the go head until that's proved to be ok. The gov is paying orph £10m to do it (although they self funded much of the development work, hence why the contract started immediately). the gov pays for the covid characterisation study, and orph keeps all the ip, so they can do covid challenge studies for all the big pharma companies. There really shouldn't be any doubt that a covid challenge study will happen (in fact 3 will). Plenty more will follow. The gov have already paid £7.5m non-refundable deposit and supplied the rf clinic for free. Sure, it's not certain, but more or less a rubber stamping once the model is finished. The rf challenge studies start in Jan, so the go ahead will be dec or jan i should imagine. | pierre oreilly
06/11/2020 18:53 | I disagree - this has been held all week to allow a big buyer or buyers (funds) to accumulate. Once finished the brakes will be off | harrywilliam |
