Yes TU expected soon.
Positives: Sterling off ~9% comparing full years, incremental growth (at market level) in streaming income, some moderation of 'cash drag'; it would be surprising if broker forecasts weren't achieved. Board strengthened and debt refinanced; a solid platform for the medium term.

Negatives: Nanocap that needs to scale; I hope the Co. comments on how it hopes to achieve that. TCAT a cash hoover and non-core distraction. Disappointing that TCAT financing not confirmed; but neither has it been denied, so one assumes still 'in diligence'. TCAT needs to spin out or be kindly put to sleep.

I've added a few small handfuls recently, content with intrinsic value growth rather than an expectation of share price fireworks in the short term.

Now what will light the fire?

So based on last year we should get a TU in the next couple of days. Just musing what to expect. Given strong H1 and further sterling weakness hard to think we won't beat on sales but of course we are still carrying all the TCAT costs. I may be doing them a disservice but I would have thought the core activity day to day manages itself so we have quite a few on the board now and let's hope that they and the new CEO at TCAT have been busy as it has all gone pretty quiet. Hard to see what might get us treated at the moment.

Refinancing announced; not the cheapest, but clearly well covered and takes away an anxiety that next year's loan expiry would present a challenge in the currenty macro context.

And then there's the forex boost. Looks like that'll be around 9% for this full year ending October 31st.

Yes there is 'cash drag'. But (a) I'd rather there was some cash on the sheet at present (ref SONG!) (b) just cos there's no RNS does not mean no small deals have been done.

I've been squinting at the 3 year share price chart. Looks like an uptrend ;.) More seriously, AIM is off over 35% since its peak a year back. OMIP very resilient in that context.

TCAT. Well it ain't over 'til the lady sings. There has been no statement contradicting previous statements that a deal is being progressed, so best guess is it is. And diligence in the VC space is in general slow at present.

Board being expanded/strengthened does not suggest a lack of corporate intent. And note the RNS "...particular focus on financial strategy and transactions, including M&A and fundraising,...".

I'm sitting tight and not holding my breath. If I need a psych boost I just look at the GBP/USD chart.

USA H1 2022. No doubt slower growth H2, but nonetheless a relatively resilient market to be in.

Let's hope it's true and we can crack on and buy some stuff more in our sweet spot.

Maybe you are right. I have never for one second thought we would actually get involved in this.

I don't think any doubt about it. Article talks about companies 'tipped' to get it, and at no point imho pretends list is in any way exhaustive.

Unless or until OMIP says differently to market, have to assume we are still involved, or why announce involvement in first place. Got to be consistent (and it's highly material whatever the outcome, either way).

Have we really - the article says who is involved and it is not us??

Whilst I agree with you Harrogate, the problem is that we have 3.5 million tied up in the offer, and with the process dragging on, possibly not helped by the band personalities involved, we can't deploy that cash elsewhere, unless we somewhat meekly withdraw. So in effect other opportunities to develop the business are passing us by. 3.5 million is not inconsequential to a company of our size.

I doubt this was a serious offer by us. More a PR story. Can't see us wanting to use up all our cash on a deal that would be way over the NPS ratio of things we buy. Could do with something happening. Soon be a year since TCAT funding mooted and a good while since any deal.

Let's just say our chances of a slice of the pie, are, even though the food analogies may leave something to be desired, looking wafer thin.

Decent $NAV uplift over at RHM. Just over 10% on the year. Even ahead of 'spiralling inflation' !
Better still at a 1.17 USD:GBP; 1.40 a year back.

The living might be easy but one thing that doesn't seem to be easy is getting TCAT funded or doing any new content acquisitions!!

Summertime, and the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin' and the cotton is high
Oh, your daddy's rich and your ma is good lookin'
So hush, little baby, don't you cry
One of these mornings you're gonna rise up singing
Yes you'll spread your wings and you'll take to the sky
But 'til that morning, there's nothin' can harm you
With daddy and mammy standin' by.

Cenkos (house broker) updated note. No surprises. Ongoing progress forecast. I don't think they've factored in sterling weakness (~1.23 this half cf. 1.33 for the half just reported).

Roll on these TCAT contracts.

Presumably previously (for quite a few years) the major labels have just been tinkering with TCAT and now OMIP are saying its time to formalise things - or TCAT was just embryonic.

Thanks for the link. I guess the question we all have is what is going to be the catalyst for a rerating. I thought it might be the publication of the value of the catalogues but while that gave a bit of a temporary boost it didn't really last. Without that rerating as we know we can't raise equity to fund content acquisition. I think the team have done a lot right in last 6 months

Harrogate yes you are correct. Minimal direct impact of CRB ruling, although it is an indication more generally of the slow trend towards more equitable distribution arrangements that will benefit all rights holders.

I note that usd/gbp averaged 1.33 during the half year. Sigt currency tailwind this half year....

Good housekeeping noted. Lovely margins. Operational leverage kicking in.
