19/12/2024 16:06 | Reckon that's at least another 400k bought back today | bigbigdave
19/12/2024 09:44 | Its a very inefficient buy back so far, if there is a seller then they should stick 10x 10k buys on the order book, or use icebergs to sweep up sells. I cannot understand buying chunks of 100k from the market makers on a SETS share. | 74tom
19/12/2024 07:04 | 407k shs bought back today They seem determined to get them while the price is around this level. | bigbigdave
18/12/2024 12:44 | And we want them to burn up as little cash as possible while buying those shares. | simmsc
18/12/2024 12:43 | We want the share price to go up as a a result of the buyback and they want the share price to stay low while they are buying back. Long term what matters is that the shares are taken out of the sharecount and circulation. Which will happen. | simmsc
18/12/2024 11:34 | I'd generally prefer a longer, sustained buyback so buying back smaller amounts per day but relentlessly buying. However the parties on the other side of these bought back blocks were obviously not planning to be long term holders in OTB so removing them now takes away potential future selling pressure. Presumably there's a relatively limited number of these off book purchases which are plausible and they'll soon need to revert to on book, and the rate will decrease | adamb1978
18/12/2024 11:29 | It's a bizarre buyback right now. To date they have repurchased £1.85m mostly via large off book trades. When you buy shares on SETS 'off book' the share price usually remains unmoved, because as the name suggests it doesn't impact the order book... Right now it's more like a tender offer than a buyback. FCH, TRST etc bought almost all of their via on book AT trades, primarily because they can place orders on the bid and raise them steadily as sellers offload in an orderly manner. I see another 100k went through at 10.51 and a second at 8.38, so it looks like this trend is continuing. £25m won't last long at all at this rate. | 74tom
18/12/2024 08:45 | 389,443 buyback today, £25 mill will be done in no time at this rate | bigbigdave
17/12/2024 14:11 | Same thing happened and still is with FCH | bigbigdave
17/12/2024 14:06 | Looking forward to it kicking it. The share buyback which TIG ran had a massive impact on the share price. Its difficult to assess accurately how much excess liquidity there is in a company's shares but by the time you add up insti holdings and those of management and others who would very rarely trade, the true free floats of companies of this size can be quite small | adamb1978
17/12/2024 10:35 | Good observation | johndoe23
17/12/2024 09:55 | On the Beach Group plc (LSE: OTB.L) announces that it intends to commence a share buyback programme in respect of its ordinary shares of 1p each ("Ordinary Shares") for up to a maximum aggregate consideration of £25 million (excluding any associated costs and stamp duty) from the date of this announcement (the "Share Buyback Programme"). The purchased Ordinary Shares will be cancelled. | bigbigdave
17/12/2024 09:51 | Can some remind me as to the size of the buyback.I think it's either £25m or 25m shares? | jm65
17/12/2024 09:26 | A rash start to the buyback, very unusual to see chunks of 100k, 63k etc bought on the order book like a drunken sailor to a total of some £927k. A far better policy is to drip feed AT buys to slowly take out any institutional sellers. Bizarre. | 74tom
17/12/2024 07:40 | Share buy backs started | bigbigdave

12/12/2024 14:58 | More big volume, seller clearing. | bigbigdave
12/12/2024 13:45 | or if you are really clever you buy a few stocks that you never sell. like say Antofagasta, Coke, Ashtead, LSEG or Berkshire hathaway That is the best way to go | undervaluedassets
12/12/2024 12:31 | Different strategies for different traders. Some like to buy and hold fir a 2 or 3 bagger over 1-2 years, others prefer to take 10-20% over a shorter time frame.10 trades at 20%, compounded, can give a greater reward over a shorter timeframe if timed correctly. | ianio5691 |
